Deck Layout

Spoiler for ReadMe:
Introduction
This thread is where we suggest, tweak and prepare decks for our vault. By the end of the vault-building phase, we should have a diverse selection of decks, including at least two which we would be happy... no, excited, to throw against each opponent.

Building From Scratch?
I don't want to just throw a selection of decks together. i want to think about our weaknesses and counter them. If that means not including some decks we used last war, then so be it. The second post in this thread will be a post-mortem of our decks from the last two wars, what worked and what didn't. if we need to build from scratch, we can do that too.

Market Prices
I'd rather have 12 optimized decks than 15 budget decks. We can worry about tweaking for the market and cutting some decks when we have finished building, so long as we get to work soon. It may also be worth buying a bundle of very cheap cards once we have finished building, as in-vault discard fodder. I don't mind throwing a cheap deck together but ONLY if we think it could actually beat something that someone might throw at us.

What Went Wrong? War 9 and 10 Vaults:

Decks including cost in current market, and notes on what I think of them, colour coded for 'Might work' and 'drown unmercilessly'. Deck titles are OLD costs, Spoiler titles are NEW costs.

Spoiler for War 10 Decks:
Spoiler for NovaPatience 3460:

I love this deck, even though it has got expensive. Adding a grabby or two for CC evasion could work, I like that the voodoos PC weapons, and damage can be dealt while SOP is on with chrys and by using warden ability on voodoo.
Very expensive now. Also upgrades moving around so that wardens are out of CC range could be needed.

Spoiler for Devourer Poseidon 2600:

A good denial deck when the right cards come out.
Quite janky quanta and draw wise, plus, suffers from CC, which a lot of our decks doo. The denial can take a turn or two longer to get going than some other denial decks.

Spoiler for Rainbow Nymph 950:

Cheap, and versatile. We may want to rebuild this to work against certain opponents better. It's basically an average deck that you can include things like pulvy, QTs and reflect to counter specific decks.
i mean, it's not great. It's slow, depends a lot on draw and luck.

Spoiler for SoFo Tinkerer 1930:

Great domin deck with PC, bypass and protection.
I quite like this deck, though it suffers... you guessed it, from CC. We really need come decks that don't care about CC as much..

Sweet deck, water's is particularly good with midrange hitters.
No real negatives other than that it's very predictable

Spoiler for AMFlooding 1720:

Hahaha funny deck. I think we should think about keeping it because it doesn't care as much about CC. Could be used to counter CC heavy domins that some will use against us.
...or maybe we shouldn't keep it. It has so many counters, even some matchups you think should work suddenly don't if they are piloted right.

Spoiler for StealNymphs 1120:

We included this because it works as a rushy stallbreaker...
The problem is, what does this do that another deck doesn't do better? Dark domin feels better in most ways, vulnerable to CC.

Spoiler for Explosion Wardens 2930:

This deck is amazing, but we need to be less predictable with using it this war. I think the main reason we didn't push on better than 3rd was because we kept playing this when it was expected and countered.
It's expensive, and suffers from heavy CC.

Spoiler for Shard Golem 5100:

Spoiler for Grabbow 2830:

Meh. Can't do it 40% in element anymore, never liked water grabbow much anyway
With a total rebuild, we could try making a SoP grabbow which makes use of the fact grabbys are immaterial to work vs CC heavy decks.

Pretty cheap, and a denial deck which we don't have many of
Janky Trio. I think PatientDevs+Trident is faster and generally better, plus harder to shutdown. Also, what is it doing with only 4 NT? If we want to keep it needs rebuilding for better reliability.

Suprisingly cheap and unexpected.
doesn't help our 50% in vault restriction. Who would we actually want to use this against bearing in mind what they like to throw against us? Sure, it's unexpected, but if it is countered by the same things that usually counter us then what's the point. Needs thinking about, probably chuck.

Spoiler for Air Domin 1390:

Cheap, but would only run as a Wings domin.
The problem is, what does this do that another deck doesn't do better? We have better CC decks, this has no PC and is walled easily.

+1 on the Void deck. If I were to rush I would use it. I mostly know how to stall with water so most implemented defensive decks?

OK, I can't see a reason not to include Patient/Explosion wardens, Chrys/bonewall, SoV and dark domin, so I'm going to put them straight into deck layout.

Another deck I really want this war is light stall, which vagman is kindly working on.

Past that, I'll be looking at each element individually to try to find something we want to use.

Light stalls are great, also seems light is cheaper than darkness.

Finished up a draft vault.

Has what is included in deck layout so far, plus:

6 devs for either dev/poseidon or devtal
3 rage pots and 4 steamies for that kind of deck
5 spark for Balltal
spare gemfinders and wardens
3 Pulvies for nymph rainbow and shipbreaker

Missing: grabbys (200), dims (180), Nova (160), Otys and SoFo and... only has 10 SoP. That's sad. means we can run 2 SoP decks and 1 Speedpoison.

next job is to rattle through previous war matchups and see if we have at least 1, preferably 2 decks to use against everyone.

One thing I aksed vaggy to have a go at building is PUgons, but I just don't know how we can fit Dims in when a full set costs 1080 on its own...

Quite liking this for air. 4 phoenixes would be 480 points. Or could just try to salvage from fire.
