Hey, I'm ddevans. I've been here 5 years, and I've served a Warmaster or Water General in every war but two. Water's been slowing trending up - our two best finishes are in the last three wars, and the new market system is egenerally very favorable us. Now's our time to strike from the depths. But first, guidelines and rules:
Activity: Absolutely the most important thing a good team can have. Having veterans means nothing if they aren't online and working together. Every day should have discussion, or something is missing and we need to patch it. I'd like you all to post times you'll specifically be online during the first couple weeks, so we can set up for a strong start.
Organization: We will be utlizing EvaRia's Main Topic system, designed for Team Aether, and which I adopted when she was on my War 7 team. During my time as Warmaster, this is the best system of organization I saw from a team.
Furthermore, we won't be using Titanpad or any similar whiteboard. They split communication and hinder discussion. if we want a standard chat, we can and should decide on one, but not a whiteboard.
Lieutenant / Boosts: These will be decided based on best matchup for them and not necessarily based on experience. If somehow electrum becomes an issue where upgrades are concerned, I have a couple 3k electrum codes to help. However, we're only playing 5 games to start instead of 6, so one of us we'll always be left out. We'll try to rotate these, but activity and experience will get priority.
Vault and Deck Building: We need to start this as soon as possible, with as much discussion as possible. Last War I used a Deck Layout, which worked pretty well, but it needs modified to work with the market sysem. Expect that thread up tonight or tomorrow - in the meantime, we can discuss more general vault/deck concepts.
Sportsmanship: Always attempt to show respect and apologize when you don't. This goes for our team, other teams, Warmasters, and anyone else involved. Disrespect is what leads to flaming and drama, and these aren't any good for anyone. If you think there's a serious issue, bring it to me and I'll talk to WMs about it.
Deadlines: I will 95% be on an hour before every deadline to finalize deckbuilding, and if I'm not I'll tell you in advance. I don't ask the same of everyone, but if you be online during that time, it's greatly appreciated. In general, don't make any major changes near the end of the deadline unless I've said I won't be around - feel free to discuss them, though, and I'll respond to them in that last hour.
