Strategy - Round 1 https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=14369.msg181908#msg181908

Essence vs. gocubbies1212 (Aether)
Bluesky vs. mrpaper (Aether)

When you think of Aether, immortal creatures come to mind. When you think of Water, creature control comes to mind. Aether also has the advantage in being able to use Fractal with virtually any other element out there, and Mindgate for card advantage.
Chrysaoras easily bypass Aether's Dissipation Shields, and clever use of Pendulums can neuter and Fractal- and Mindgate-users.
Earthquakes and Trident could slow down any Fractal rush attempts, while Ice Shield and Ice Shields can deal with creatures after they are played.

miniwally vs. coinich (Earth)
vinvick3714 vs. Demagog (Earth)

Earthquakes are a bitch. Shriekers hit like trucks. Stone Skin, Enchant Artifact, and Titanium Shield stall for ages. Protect Artifact is basically a necessity here.
Shockwaves and Toadfish will be able to slow down a rush and deal damage at the same time, with the occasional Wings for extra stalling.

The dictator vs. brettbstock (Fire)
RavingRabbid vs. Stinnger (Fire)

A jack of all trades. Fire has incredible control in the form of Deflagration, Fire Bolt, and Fire Shield. Fire has incredible power in the form of Lava Golems and Phoenixes.
Steam Machine / Phoenix deck with Deflags for Fire Shields and Water CC seems to be the win.
Freeze-based rush decks with no permanents bar pillars will be able to out-rush and avoid pesky Deflagrations.

unit748596 vs. Daxx (Life)

Life rush. Expect a duo with Fire / Darkness / Entropy for creature and permanent control, or something weird to throw us off.
Bringing Ice Shields and Floodings, a Purify (scorpions), and a couple of Deflags to deal with Bonds and Thorn Carapace take care of many threats.

wavedash vs. Ryan666 (Light)

Light's hardest hitter is the Pegasus, able to be boosted to extraordinarily high attack levels through buffs. Freeze and Ice Bolt completely neuters Light; they know this, so some sort of duo is expected. Miracles can out-heal Water's rather disappointing creatures.
Pillar denial through Earthquakes and Tridents counters any attempts to spam Miracles. Poison buildup also screws over any Miracle stalling.

nilsieboy vs. Belthazar666 (Time)

Time has control in the form of Reverse Time and Eternity, but no permanent control. Devonian Dragons are very good in terms of cost effectiveness, but cost quite a bit. Pharaoh / Scarab stall with Procrastination or Reverse Time / Eternity / Pillar control are possible tactics Time might employ.
Lack of speed is Time's biggest issue, so Toadfish / Dragon rush will beat out any attempts on their part.
Stall decks and be out-stalled by control and even quanta denial for an Ice Bolt kill.

Can't say this is the ideal first round. Aether's going to be rocking immortal creatures, Fire's got tons of control, and I'd be surprised if Earth didn't bring Earthquakes.
i agree with that,we have some tough opponents.
i'd take a stall deck against aether, maybe tridents against light, don't know things for fire yet (cheap control and poison rush?)
don't know vs time yet,vs earth maybe poison rush with pillars/pendulums against the EQ (fast and cheap)

I'm thinking I'm going to be up against Rage Elixir Pegasuses, but I'm not entirely sure.

if you think that take freeze and about 3 squids for late game.
then you just block the strong pegasus while you can kill him slowly (you might ad toadfishes to)
but i don't think they'll use that because they also know water has a lot of control

Right, but Fire has a good amount of control too, it can easily kill Pufferfish / Dragons.

Light can't really do much aside from fly Pegasuses.

But,it turns out we don't have any dimension shield in our vault.

So, mental note: first thing to salvage (if possible) dimension shields

-Comment on truddy02 - brion.

Neither deck seemed very dangerous.
The discord can be mean, but it is handled it easily, and, most important, Dragon are slow to come out with pends.

Truddy's deck was better built. Still, with a little permanent control, brion would have owned completely truddy.

Card counting is a complex thing. It works around how much did cards help in that situation, and, so, it helps us building decks.

OK, RavingRabbid has an awesome idea here -- let's try to keep up on it.  I've gotta work my butt off to pay my rent for the next couple of days, but if all y'all could keep adding to the database Raving has right there - -just whenever you can, go through the Battle Results and add decks that haven't been added yet -- that would be SWEET.
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.
