Yeah, I specifically asked ddevans a few rounds ago, he said that salvaging is mandatory, because it isn't fair towards other teams, prolongs the war and takes a lot more communication: We get 6 salvage; kev/dd schedules matches for the next round; we suddenly decide we want to drop salvage; matches need to be rescheduled; team X doesn't get a bye they did get with us playing one more match, so they want to drop salvage; they do drop a match; they then get a bye; they want more salvage; they don't get a bye; they drop salvage.... byeception ;)

Anyway, it is too much of a hassle.

EVENT CARD 1: I'd say it's a nice card but at this moment winning our match vs Entropy is key and this card doesn't help that much. Managing our vault is useless if we lose this match since our vault will be screwed anyway.

EVENT CARD 2: The only deck we can build using our own mark are mono-decks and the 3rd event card is better for that. We don't have air/aether pends to make a water-mark based deck.

EVENT CARD 3: This is our card imo. We build a mono-deck to beat :entropy. Rav already tested something before war, I'll post it here.

Our ONLY Mono deck left if we don't use Event card 1:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5ie 5ie 5ie 5ie 5ie 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gk 7gm 7gm 7gm 7go 7go 7go 7gp 7gr 7gr 7gt 7gt 7i6 7i6 7i6 7i6 7i6 7i6 7i6 8pp

You can add 2 Congeals if you'd like.

If we lose with this deck, we're pretty much screwed for the next round (9) since we cannot field another legal deck after that.

I'd say we're better off using a PU/Dim shield deck since they won't expect it.

PU/Dim deck:

I'd suggest to upgrade the toadfishes too, if entropy makes a mono deck it will most likely contain antimatters. Puffer fishes pierce through antimatter with their poison. You get the point :)

Also nice to counter Maxwells, all they can kill is the dragons! (hold the dragons till you're sure there is no AM btw, use of for the finishing blow)

Deck Options:
1. Mono water 30 ups
2. Valkyrie
3. PU/Dim deck

Deck Options:
1. Mono water 30 ups Event card 3 for ups, or Event card 1, which allows vault styling
2. Valkyrie Event card 1, thus vault styling allowed
3. PU/Dim deck Event card 1, thus vault styling allowed
On the antimatter, you can also use the squids to freeze your own antimattered creatures ;)

But upgrading the puffers is a nice move indeed.

On the other hand, entropy is a strong team, so I would prefer to use Valkyrie or PU/Dims, because we still have the other one left when Rav loses (always assume the worst, that means you can only do better ;) ).

Basically we have to:
Build an fully upped water bow that has a nice win percentage.
Build a duo in such a way that is has a good chance to win, but still leaves us with another viable deck if it loses.

Then we have to test both options, and see what gives us the best win chances the round after this.

But, I'd say, we must prepare and get to build two 30 cards decks with the cards we have.

If we win, we're going to have a surprise deck in the sleeve (and two decks to play if we win in round 9). If we lose, we have another deck to field in round 9.

How's this?

Sadly, this deck fails against the same deck Valk dislikes, which are exactly the ones that Entropy has left.

We could do -shields +squids and pendulums/pillars. That way we don't care about PC and we still have valk left if we lose this round.

If we lose with a mono we are left with mostly air and aether cards, and we will be unable to build anything viable and legal with that.
