Event Card - Marksman [Round 8]

We will be using this thread for discussion. Our final decisions will be PMed to WMs by me.

If you win a match, you may name a card. Your opponent discards up to 4 copies of that card from their vault.

If you have 4 or more, you discard 4. If you have less than 4, discard all you have. This is on top of normal 15 discards. If 2 teams target same card, max discard stays at 4, not 8. This can not be used on shards.


In Round 7, Air won all 5 of their matches. In Round 8, so far, their only matches are losses to us and Darkness. The in-element cards they used in Round 7, minus the in-element cards used in their first two matches Round 8, are laid out as follows:

Dragonfly: 17
Sky Dragon: 12
Wyrm: 11 - 6 = 5
Wings: 8
Owl's Eye: 4 - 3 = 1
Shockwave: 4 - 5 = -1
Sky Blitz: 2
Fog Shield: 2
Thunderstorm: 2
Flying Weapon: 0 - 2 = -2
Blue Nymph: 0 - 6 = -6

The decks were, roughly, the following (first set is r7 wins, last set is first two r8 losses):
1 Balanced Mono
2 Darkness Domins
1 Squid Domin
1 SoW Wyrms

1 Balanced Mono
1 Blue Nymph Rush

I think we should decide which of [Dragonfly / Sky Dragon / Wings / Wyrm] is most threatening to us, as they have large amounts of those cards remaining and cutting into them as much as possible seems ideal. Alternatively, we could select an off-element card they are fond of.

If darkness picks wings, pick wings.
If darkness doesn't pick wings, pick wyrms.
If darkness doesn't pick wings, but picks wyrms, pick wings.

Of course, this implies us knowing what darkness does, which we don't.

Am I correct in thinking your preference is either Wings or Wyrms?

I'm worried that we can't deplete the stock of wings well enough, even though that's the most problematic card they have in their arsenal. Thus, unless you think that four wings should be enough to prevent them from using the card against us that often, I'd recommend wyrms.

I think it depends on if they lose with Wings this round. If they do, that plus 4 more should be a pretty good dent. If not, we should consider something else.

I think we should go for wings. It directly helps us a LOT, but does not cripple them.

In case we actually won more match, I'd suggest that either we use icons to indicate which team's Marksman assault we're discussing about (works iff one element or less is being discussed on the reply), or at the very least use some disambiguation.

That being said, for Air's case, I'd proceed like what Espi says, but with one catch. Iff we're suspecting the other teams that have won against Air have both Wings and Wyrms covered, unlikely as it is IMHO (since it requires, at Air's best, a 2-3), go for, in order of preference: Azure Dragons, Damselflies (Dragonflies aren't that hot unupped. Damselflies may bring lots of headache if not handled quickly, though, and we know how hard it is without mass CC), <couldn't think what should we use Marksman at in case all five teams are feasting on Air, however unlikely that'd be>.

That are my thoughts of what i hate seeing those elements playing... if some of them havent those cards, its ok... hard EC but if, that should leave their vault! we dont know what others picking and cant say what they have left... so just shot them for blaming their lamenes.... sad we cant pick aether and entropy, would dim and discord all what they have...

and if not picking good thinks cause "other said, tehy would pick things like schroedinger.....  ), just pick things they salavaged from us... seeing so many sopa´s around makes me sad...
