Hm, I think Water/Death does well. Flooding and Bonewall is a killer.

Only to some decks like fractal and RoL/Hope, most decks don't go past the first line.
Besides, there's no card synergy.

Water/Air: Shockwaves, only insta kill regardless of health. Toadfish (I think that's it's name)
Water/Death: Only two elements with poison.
Water/Aether: Mind Flayers, And I think fractal and squids work well together

Agreed. I also like Water/Death because of the poison (Chrysaoras ftw) and Flooding + Bone Wall + Condor...

I would say  :water / :death on account of poison. Chrys-somethings  ::)

For a rainbow poison deck, I made a bunch of adrenalized puffer fish, but they did not perform as advertized.
The puffer fish card says: poison on each successful attack. Adrenalized, it attacks 4 times, but only deals 2 poison damage.
I wish I'd checked the trainer before upping those puffers. =/

I think that we should take a closer look on the mechanisms. Most people considder  :death to be the best duo with  :water.
But why is that? The Chrysaora's are a good source of poison dammage while you defend yourselve with cards like freeze and bonewall.
These decks are powerful because the poisoncounters deal dammage to the opponent even if he has a shield up and even after he has dealt with de Chryasoras. The stall cards like freeze and bonewall make sure that you don't recieve any dammage from opposing  creatures. Bonewall and Chryasora are the keypieces of these decks. Seems a great duo! But is it the best duo with  :water? I don't think so. It is a common rule that Stall and Rush decks can't be compared with eachother. The poisonstall or even the speedpoison decks can't be compared with the other duos of  :water because it is unique. It does something completely different than the other duos. and therefor can't be compared.
:fire :water focuses a lot on CC rather than on unpenetrable shields, while setting up own offence the form of Steammachines. This is a fundamental difference.
:air :water Focuses a lot on the freeze mechanic. and can use shockwaves to insta kill big creatures. But it is verry weak to Permanents as it does not have any PC.
:aether :water consists mostely of fractal decks. they can use Mindflayer as a form of soft CC (but they can switch those for a Lobotomiser or even run them both). Stalling power of these decks relies on the Phase Shields and lightnings. Obviously you cant' run all af these because otherwis your deck would be to big. This duo is in my eyes the weakest. It isn't as good as other fractal decks (Pesttal, Frogtal, Rol/hope)

Another duo that isn't mentionned before is  :time :water. I made a verry good deck, using nymph tears and rewind for full control and speed.
Spoiler for Hidden:

Also I believe that  :earth :water is a realy bad duo. The posseidon can't make the difference. EQ is better in most occasions and the other  :water cards don't make the difference eather.
That was it.
