The ability change from the unupped to the upped is pretty unique. Not many other creatures get to do such a thing. That being said, the unupped is good for some small creature control and the upped is good for damaging opponents, those without bone walls, phase shields, and any shield blocking for 2 or more damage.

Can anyone verify that an Antimattered Puffer Fish still gives Poison tokens?

I recall it does (to the enemy of the Puffer fish to be sure) even though the enemy of the puffer fish does not receive the damage.

Great card when upped. Wh does the fish have legs, though?

Because it evolved from a TOAD fish. 


Also, the fact that Puffer Fish give poison counters when Antimattered totally makes me want to work up a PufferFish/Nymph's Tears deck with Amethyst Pillars and Aether Pillars (and thus Antimatter and Quintessence on a stick) so that I can get untouchable, unblockable poison counters (and live long enough for them to take effect via Antimattering opponent's creatures).

I almost want Puffer Fish's cost to be reduced to 4 .  It would make my Fractal/Pufferfish deck that much more deadly...

You know, with Abyss Crawler's cost dropped to 4, it makes Puffer Fish almost a stupid card to use these days.  It takes 7 attacks from a Puffer Fish before it catches up with the damage output from an Abyss Crawler -- that's 42 damage over 7 turns; coming up on half of an opponent's HP.  Add that to the weakness to any 2-point shield and the Devourability of the Fish, and it's tough to justify.

Add the fact that a Flying Arsenic costs 2 for a 5/7 creature with the same ability, and I do think a case could be made for a nerf to the Pufferfish cost.

Actually it would be 2 1 for a 2/7 creature with venom. Upgraded it would be 2 1 for a 4/7 creature with venom.

I agree, this and fractel makes a mean combo, aswell as this with adrenaline, it is really great for a fun deck to see the poison add up.

Also, and very importantly, it takes 2 cards to get the Flying Arsenic.  That in and of itself is a huge cost.
