But just remember there's a HUGE difference between, not playing a match and having no match to play.
There's also a huge difference in not playing a match and losing a match. Jaymanfu lost one match already (0-2), xdawnbydeath haven't lost a match. Although both options suck, I feel more comfortable in removing someone who has lost already, then someone who hasn't lost at all.
xdawnbydeath hadn't lost a match? --> xdawnbydeath hadn't
PLAYED a match. Here's the link to Round 1 (
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,260.0.html) and Round 2 (
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,261.0.html).
Also, yes Jaymanfu did lose a game (0-2), but he did win one (2-1).
So in reality, Jaymanfu was 1-1, while playing 2 matches... xdawnbydeath was 1-1 and HAD NEVER PLAYED A MATCH.
At worst, you could have done the first coin flip and given Jaymanfu and xdawnbydeath a chance to play.
No time. Every second we would have waited for these two to play, would have been a second the rest of the event is basically put on hold because winner of that match would have had to fight two more times during this last round.
Actually all the games in that bracket would have been done today. All the players were on today and were able to play as shown here Round 3 (
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,262.0.html) Besides you already had given them a 48 hour extension.. which in hindsight may have been a bad idea. Coin flip instead of an extension?
I think Jaymanfu was lucky to be honest. Not getting picked during auction, and with a 0-1 record in Underworld, he has a pretty good chance of getting into the War main event as a replacement. All it needs is one of the 8 players picked to fold which is pretty likely to happen at some point. That's a pretty good opportunity considering Jaymanfu was one small step away from getting permanently removed from War #2.
I think you owe him an apology for the part in bold. A warmaster should never say someone is 'lucky',, grateful yes, but lucky is very demeaning.
I may sound a little disgruntled, but I hope you don't feel that's my intent. This information can be used for next WAR.
The thing I'm saddest about is the fact that he never got the
CHANCE to play his last game. He got knocked out of a double-elimination tournament, having only lost once.
