I still don't get how me being active getting my game done early waiting for my opponents to get done with there game, them getting the extension, them never getting it done, results in me being out of something as big as war.
I received a PM about this as well, so this post can be considered as a response to that PM.
Short version:I had to pick a winner.
Long version:At some point, if the fights don't happen, I have to pick a winner. We cannot just go on and on because the show must go on. Is it fair? Of course not, but there's really no other choice. Only question is
how do I pick the winner?
You and your opponent both (kind of) lost one duel. You lost it the old-fashioned way, and he/she "lost" it by not making his/her happen. The way I look at things, you were equal. This is why I chose to use a randomizer to pick the winner. I saw it as the most "fair" solution because this way you both had a 50% chance and it was the Elemental Gods who decided the winner.
In your case, think about it like this: You got removed from War because:
A) You
didn't get bid on during auction phase
B) You
lost a duel during round 1 of War: Underworld
C) You
got unlucky with the randomizer
Instead of taking this as the worst decision ever made in the history of forum events, you should remember that you
at least had a chance. War: Underworld was not part of the original plan. According to original plan, you would have been eliminated a long time ago. You were given a second change, but unfortunately because of losing the first match, followed by bad luck, you got eliminated.
And consider this: had your opponent lost the draw, he/she would have been eliminated from War: Underworld without actually losing a single duel. Personally I think that would have been much more unfair than what happened now but that's debatable.
I have an idea. Because of the way you got pushed out of the event, I will appoint you as the 1st replacement player of Team Underworld. This means that if one of the 8 players fold, you will get in. How's that? Chances of it happening at some point are relatively high. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the 8 quit before Team Underworld even joined War because unavoidable real life stuff always happens.
