With Salvaging in W2, how about making it proportional to the amount of cards in the deck you are salvaging from? This will serve as a deterrent from teams making huge suicide decks so they can control their vault easily. One fifth of the total amount of cards in the deck sounds right.
War 2 has card conversion system which makes this "huge suicide deck" strategy obsolete.

We cannot punish teams for getting byes, nor can we have players fight multiple matches per round. I don't think there is a good simple solution for this, but I'm open for suggestions.

Maybe just ensuring the teams that are winning don't get byes would suffice?

I don't like this because it's one more thing that the organizers need to keep track. The solution needs to be simple.


Maybe just ensuring the teams that are winning don't get byes would suffice?
Hm.. something like that might actually work. We could do a system where he team with least amount of cards in the Vault gets a bye. I have to think about it, but right now I see no downside to it.

the downside is, that a team with 1 deck left, cause it had the worst performance, so far, could be lucky and survive round after round, while others, playing with 2 or even 3 decks, could drop out before theyll get down to 1 deck.

That's easy to fix.

If there are uneven number of players fighting during a round, the team in last place (least amount of cards in the Vault) gets a bye. If that team already had a bye during the previous turn, the 2nd to last team gets a bye instead.

Seems simple enough and it keeps things random and fair.  How many byes are we actually talking about?  I think there were 2-3 this war.

Yeah. Those extra 12 cards would have really helped :fire during round 9.

Or the -60 cards...

Anyway, what about MVP awards? When a team is eliminated, they choose one player as their MVP. I guess ties could be broken by the master and/or war master. When the war is over and everyone has had time to discuss the event and look at secret sections, the community votes for the overall MVP.
