Some more questions to our WMs.
You already set discards, www and I talked a little about it, but imho both made a mistake.
Current discards are 6-10-14 (for first 3 rounds) and 20 (from 4th round on).
Last war discards were 9-15-20 (for first 3 rounds) and 24 (from 4th round on).
Now, discards should be set on starting vault size (example, if team starting vaults were have 100 cards each, with war #8 rules the event would last 4-5 turns...)
So, i did some math, to mantain the same ratio of last war.
In war #8, average size of starting vault was 395 cards.
As general, i tried to set up a (competitive) vault, using 18.000 points as limit. My "test" (and legal) vault has 286 cards. I've asked to some other generals about their vault, so let's assume that this war, average size of starting vault will be 300 cards.
Doin' some math (I did it for ya all), IF:
we used 9-15-20 and 24 as discards with 395 as starting vault,
this war discards should be:
6,8 - 11,3 - 15,1 - 18,2 rounded to 7-11-15-18
On a (VERY IMPORTANT) side note: last war pillars and pends were part of the vault and discards. This meant that, after losing a battle (from round 4 on) with a 30 cards deck, you were able to save 6 cards from that deck.
With current discards (6-10-14-20), losing a battle (from round 4 on) would mean losing an entire deck (and in some cases + other cards). In fact, a 30 cards deck with 10 pillars would be gone with 20 as discard.
So, we should not only reduce discard considering starting vault size, but considering that pillars/pends are not part of the vault anymore.
Now, let's consider salvage too.
Last war we salvaged 6 cards per game won. Trying to mantain the same ratio with starting vault, this war we should use 4,5 as salvage, rounded down to 4.
Assuming all these data, I'm suggesting:
- to reduce salvage to 4.
- to reduce discards to 6-8-10-16
EDIT: PS: it would have been everything much more easier if, as we always used to do, pillars/pends and marks were part of the vault. Imho we're in time to do it, just put pillars/pends/marks cost to: 1
