[13:58:30] ‹Odii_Odsen› what about to accept the current EC with a little modification. Discards are depend on the result. For every win the discard reduces by 2.

edit: still hard if you lose 0-3 but a soft additional punishment if you lose 2-3.

I think a complete change or replacement is not the best solution.

Discard 4 for 0-3, 2 for 1-3, and 1 for 2-3, for in-element cards. Similarly, 2, 4, 6 for out-of-element cards. That way it reduces the punishment for losing a match due to RNG / lessens the severity as Odii suggested.

I do realize you don't have to change anything as you guys are the WM, and we did suggest to speed up the War as it is now. Just a suggestion.
Tasted the world, seen more than enough.

I am fine with the EC as written.  Finally an EC that "really matters" and suddenly teams are afraid of losing extra?  ... and in the same thread some players are asking for a way to speed up War?

Consider :death as A-OK with the current version (but not necessarily opposed to minor tweaks etc).

We're not afraid of losing extra, in fact one of my suggestion is to discard extra cards, but not chosen cards. This EC can kill decks even if they are not played. It's a big middle finger to all team efforts made so far to save some decks to use in late rounds.

I must say Spike's second suggestion is a really good one. The most frustrating aspect of this EC is the lack of choice, and giving teams the ability to sacrifice more cards would be a nice addition. I'd suggest discarding 9 cards of your choice or discarding 6 of a stated card, because 12 seems like too punishing especially for weaker teams. You could even reduce the chosen discards to 4 for both off-element and in-element to make it simpler. 4 is pretty much equal to 6 when it comes to killing an archetype.

When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.

Not a bad idea... though teams would have to be noticed if they removed the asked card or not if we wanna keep the spirit of the EC.   Also, IF a change is to be made, do not make it as a last minute thing please as it can affect deck building choices for some teams.

I officially ask all Maters/Generals and all people that agree with me (on editing/nerfing the Round 8 EC) to quote this message in this post.

I agree, way too snowbally EC, it has the potential to kill 2 decks at once, which is way too harsh.
You know, a long time ago being crazy meant something. Nowadays everybody's crazy.

I don't get why people dislike this EC so much.

• It's a way to make war shorter and put 3-4 teams in top position.
• It makes each team work harder and more focused this round.
• Sure it's a hard punch if you lose a lot but it's the same rules for everyone and it's a way to remove the mainstream decks from war. Ultimately people will be forced to try new decks and ideas.
• It's the first EC in a long time that actually is game changing.

Why not, after X consecutive losses for a team, what majofa said happens or, they just get booted out of war? I know i'm not part of war, but everyone complains about war being slow. Maybe this'd speed things up.

If I can limply interject, I would've been completely fine with this EC if it was earlier, like round 3 max, because we have a lot of decks in those rounds and we're not going to lose the only thing that can deal with dims.

This late, though, where our vaults are full of holes and the amount of viable decks we have can be listed with two, maybe one hands? When people start considering suiciding to cut their losses? Ergf. Why.

Do we name it in apm to wms? Otherwise, in the winning post before deadline?... Would seem more work for you this way but prevents secrets.

PM me.

What is the required timing of this PM with the targeted card?  Is it before the match is played or before end of round or before end of deckbuilding phase??

I still don't understand why, it's so difficult to backtrack and to modify the original idea, when it's clearly a bad one.

Sometimes I wonder why we still have suggestion and feedback sections...
