WAR #9 R13
He gasped. NO he thought I can't go down like this... he looked at the enemy standing above him. The rancid breath of a zombie hung in the air. It made him sick. Had the dead really wanted such a revenge on him? He closed his eyes, bracing himself for the harsh reality, only to to find himself in an empty space. Was he dead? Had he survived?

News
Darkness seems to have a solid lead with almost twice as much cards as air, in second place, has. Gravity and Aether seems to be falling behind terribly. Fire suffers a great loss, as it is now eliminated. We mourn them. But it looks like this war is slowly coming to an end. Find out after this round who gets closer to the win!
Deckbuilding
Duel phase has started

Teams have to build decks for all players who are fighting during this round. All team members participate in the planning. Please do not post your decks in public or talk about them in chat.

All decks must be made ready before the timer goes to zero, after which, editing decks is strictly forbidden. Failure to have all of the decks ready will lead to a severe card penalty and/or automatic losses. It is highly recommended that all team members double-check their decks before the duels start.

Duel phase starts when deckbuilding ends.

PM your opponent and try to find a suitable time. Time Zone Converter (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html) might be useful here. If you cannot find a time when you both are online, please contact Warmasters (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=6437,2986)--worldwideweb3 and Coffeeditto--immediately. If the match does not happen, you both lose by default unless one of you is clearly more active and flexible.

Duels are "best-of-five", you must use the deck and mark built during the previous phase, and you cannot make any changes to your deck or mark during the round.

These cards are treated as virtual cards, like pillars/pends. If you lose with these cards in deck, you will discard from vault for these cards. Can only select cards from your team's previous matches' discards.

Question about this EC - Is this only for our discards from round 12, or may we pull discards from any previous round (e.g. rd. 3)? 

And just to bump the clarification you provided earlier (thanks again Coffee!) it has to be discards from your team's vault (i.e. we cannot take discards from another team's previous rounds).

Does the EC apply to all decks, or per deck? i.e. if we discard 6 mindgates in R12 and have 0 mindgates left in vault as a result, can we use 6 mindgates in both our decks using EC?

Can a team use virtual cards in place of real ones? Say we have 3 mindgates left in vault and discarded 6 last round. If we use a deck with 6 mindgates, it must be 3 virtual and 3 real/vault mindgates or can all 6 be treated as virtual?

Also, is Air facing darkness thrice due to the 'constraint that no team will play another team more than once within a given round if possible'? Or was it randomized amongst having 2 gravy, 2 air matches for darkness and this?

Yes, its only for discards from R12, which will be the discards you put in this round.  Also, yes, it has to be from your team's vault, not from another team's vault.


@zawa
EC apply to all decks. You can use 6 discarded cards in total. So, in your given example, you may only use 6 mindgates in one deck, or 3 in two decks..
No, real cards take priority. So, if you do have 3 mindgates already, they will be used first, then the virtual ones.
Air is facing darkness 3 times as gravity and aether must face 3 and 2 different opponents respectively.

War Rounds follow a specific schedule so that rounds are updated in the middle of the weekend, providing good times for both deckbuilding and duels phases.

Though I've got no problem with shifting the schedule, or at least giving 2 extra days for next round's deckbuilding (or 1 day for deckbuilding and 1 for duels). Other generals?

Poor WMs, they can hardly catch a break before being pestered about MOAR UPDATES.

That said, we in Team Darkness would not disagree with extra prepping time :)
