Straight no to any kind of shards unless you just make it super expensive to use them.

As for the rests, since the majority seems to think that Sideboards as a role is a better idea, that will be how it shall be done. As for the remainder of your questions, we will work on them and adress them shortly.

My humble opinions:

1) Shards: I've always stated I've nothing against Shards and I'm happy to see them in War, but unlimited Shards will heavily affect the War metagame, and above all they may affect auctions and War participants; for example, new players with few shards will be heavily penalized by this rare cards lack (in auctions as during war). So, I hope WMs will reconsider the Shards use in this War, adding some Shards restrinctions.

2) Draft and auctions: they lead to different strategies; for what I am, draft suits me more, but auctions are indeed more fun. Welcome back then.

3) Roles: waiting for some more news from WMs

4) Market: it's something similar to something I've suggested long time ago, I can't wait to see this feature and how it works.

5) Sideboards: even if I don't consider this a totally bad idea, I'm still a fan of "unchangeable" decks during War matches. The deckbuilding and vault management would be more complicated, imho.

6) Upgrades: 12/9/6 sounds so fine...

7) Soft bans: as point 3, waiting for some more news about them...

Shards are very easy to get. Today i got 2 shards by farming bronze. Shards are the same difficulty as weapons.

Shards are indeed easy to get, though it's very hard to get exactly the shard you need.

True but if you lack à particular shard or two.. It is more of a problem for those élements.. Or if the master want them in à combo. That said, the last players to be picked are likely to need à bit of grinding....like it was the case with ups anyway so its not an issue to me.

This penalization on newer players already happens with nymphs anyway.

seconded shards are not all that hard to get and to be honest the reduced nymphs of newer players greatly outweighs the lack of shards a player doesn't need every shard to be strong competitive decks. Heck the average general should be able to buid a vault with zero shards. This is the first war with shards so penalising them without knowing what impact they make is ridiculous. I don't agree with penalisation for lack of nymphs and marks either but at least the impact they make is well known. As our warmasters are convinced it time to allow shards for a test run they will obviously make the most powerful shards more expensive than the weaker ones, there may not be any direct restriction on shards but I'm sure this market will indirectly restrict them, just like it will indirectly restrict all the most powerful cards of course more detail on costs will be divulged closer to war.
love makin my decks unusual if able. Chaos and luck are widely regarded as different i beg to differ just refer to :entropy but for those in the know also refer to :time and :death.

I am very skeptical of the market concept. Based on how it is described, aether cards will cost more because I was so awesome in previous wars... While i am kind of intrigued by it, i think it will be very very difficult to appropriately balance.


At first, i was open to the sideboard for all idea, but I think it is going to benefit certain elements a lot more than others.  We also have another event called "Sideboard"... The only thing i like about it, is that it helps with high discards late in war, which is a moot concept with the market idea... Even with sideboard as role, i'm not a big fan as many view it as stronger than a Gen or Lt.


Shards...i personally dont like to use in pvp, but was bound to happen sooner or later.


Upgrades, i'm cool with reducing compared to last war

For the people who are confusing the upgrades with REDUCTIONS :


The total amount of upgrades is  12/9/7 in this war. This means that this is actually a higher amount of upgrades we had last one. The only difference is that 3 of these upgrades HAVE to be in-element.

For the people skeptical of Shards: If your line of thought is just "It's too strong in some elements like Air" then well, Dim Shield is also a strong card just like SoFree is, and you don't see us banning it, do you? We're thinking on how to balance shards but elemental hate isn't how to go about it. We can't say "These elements can use any amount of shards in deck, Air can only use up to 3"; saying "all elements can only use up to 3" means that some shards become inherently useless, and if we make "6 shards" as a role, then that just means it's broken in a single game.

For Sideboards : We're integrating them as a role.

For Market: We're trying to make it balanced. Vault Building is something people have wanted to change for a while now, and Market can possibly help balance shard. How well this forced balance will be done is a different story entirely.

For those of you who like shards but dislike market and for those of you who like market but dislike shards and for anyone with something to complain: We cannot and will not get all of you pleased simultaneously. We're attempting to change War a bit. If we just introduce Shards as a role then well, we're not really doing anything outstanding and then people will complain about how war is "Stale". If we introduct Shards as free then some people are bound to complain about them, too; if we make Market, some people are bound to complain about it, too; borderline, someone is always going to complain. If you're the one complaining and we decide not to take your feedback to heart, trust me, we have valid reasons to do so. Everyone's feedback is equally valid, and if more people want something over less people, then we will obviously try to cater to the higher amount of people. This is only natural. If you want to complain about something or similar, then please do so in a form that is valid instead of "I think shards are broken for a few elements". Yes, we know that. Elements as a whole is broken to some elements. That's why we're trying to balance it out.
