... but WAIT! The event's basic rules already have such "penalty for losing" built into it. This event card just comes across as "doubling down" (I know, it is not quite full double loss, but I digress) losses right out of the gate as teams are getting rolling in the event for Round 1.
If this is the event card, then this is it and we'll make it happen. However, the displeasure being voiced is not so casually dismiss-able by a "just win and it isn't a problem" statement. <circularly refers back to opening statement about War already being built with rules that punish the losing teams>

Yes, this makes Round 1 discards bigger than first advertised. IF you can't predict accurately. I agree discards are too low as it is, so this EC:
1. fixes that.
2. fixes that through a test of skill.
3. fixes that through a test of prediction skills, something you're going to need anyway. A lot.
Oh, and
4. fixes that and adds betting, which is hella fun and exciting.
