i see the silences now, thanks legit. I missed the 3rd gravity win since laxa put "gravy" instead of "gravity"

And kdz posted top 4 standings as 138 for gravy, which is only 12 more than the 126 in spoils vault after R7

So, was there a 6-card penalty or did kdz just derp with gravity standings after round 8?

Either way, 2 more mercs were definitely used, which needs a ruling.

About mercs :

All round 8 spoils are treated as spoils for all purposes. Next round salvage will be treated as salvage.

Since mercs are spread to 3 decks. could gravity just say they used illegal mercs on their air match, get a penalty and keep aether matches as they are ?

Not sure how a WM would rule that. You could also make the argument that all the decks are illegal, and all should be autolosses.

Making all decks illegal due to 2 wrongful cards, just because you'd like it, will unlikely happen. if they didn't make that mistake only 1 deck would be different. they didn't use 14 extra mercs.

i agree. I am just being devil's advocate. But just counting the deck vs air as the illegal and issuing a 3-card penalty because its easy and no one wants to see aether win again is grossly unfair as well. But those 2 mercs could have been the difference between winning and losing in our matches vs gravity.

I agree, if the merc thing is as deuce says, medium(6) or major penalty(12) sounds about right.

And since even a 6 card penalty would knock Gravity to 2 players, this round matches will probably have to be reseeded (aether wouldn't get a bye and a lot can change). So I agree with deuce that the round must be reset after this issue is solved.

Since this was apparently an accident (I also confused spoils and salvage and freaked out when I noticed torb hadn't put the things in the same threads we were putting since the beginning) and aether was hard countered in both matches, this seems fair to me. If kdz feels a harsher punishment is needed I would suggest RNG'ing which deck was illegal and giving a lighter penalty.
