My intention was not to suggest a better option. But incidently, i do have a -not so well thought- solution; Make it so that we have 5 matches on rounds 2 and 4.

To make it even more fair, it should be the generals who are skipped
So, no one will complain about getting 2 or more of them.

Not because of you chapuz. Because of declaring some small issue about vault before the matches. Would you mind getting on chat, in near future, to talk about air stuff before discussing everything on forums ?

I just noticed, we returned to the silly rubber banding bye. It would have been more fair to give (current top team) that bye.
Water could easily play 5 matches, it didn't need this bye.
And 5 matches would have ensured that everyone plays everyone in the first 2 rounds.

In previous Wars having a bye was a good thing because you would lose fewer cards, which is why the bye went to the top teams. This War having the bye is bad because you have fewer opportunities to gain Spoils, which is by it's going to the lower teams. Although after round 8 the situation goes back to how it used to be, so we might have to tweak that a little bit.

Yeah, sorry, it was fire. Point was the same, less matches to play from the same pool is beneficial because you are not forced to use all your decks. If you don't have to fill all slots, you can combine decks as well, so the individual decks could be stronger if you have fewer to prepare.

They could be.
It's a matter of potential. Getting a bye means you play safer but gain less. I think the gain less, especially in the later (3-8) rounds will at least balance out the play safer, if not totally destroy it.
