- Fielding six decks is clearly a disadvantage.
- The EC clearly benefits you more than other teams.

If you're disagreeing with the second point, you're wrong.  If you're voicing disapproval of the first point, take it to the S&F thread.  And then instead of whining about it next round, post in the S&F thread again.  And then instead of whining about it the round after, post in the S&F thread.  Incessant bitching about the unfairness of the +6/-27 isn't additive.

If it's any consolation, hain, your being the squeaky wheel seems to be working for you, as it's clear the WMs designed this EC after randing matchups, fully knowing that you'd benefit more than the others.

Hain, I wasn't trying to antagonise yourself or Team Aether, so I apologise if I came off that way. It is obvious that more matchups is often a bad thing either forcing suicides or all around weaker decks. My point was that Aether has more to gain from this event card, and round in general, if they win enough matches, which of course requires them to get the wins in the first place.

The EC really doesn't effect aether at all actually. If we do well, we practically won war because our opponents vaults will be very limited and the extra salvage means very little to us. If we do poorly, our vault gets crushed and our opponents get extra salvage making them even tougher next round.

The big problem for aether this round is that we have no easy matches nor a bye. And neither do any of our opponents. This is war, it's not supposed to get easier the further you get in war. But, it just sucks that we dominate for 8 rounds, and we can easily fall to 4th place as a result of a poor performance this round. And that's how war has always been, so we'll keep chugging along and hope for the best.

Your analysis is correct for the two extreme cases: if you win all, then EC doesn't matter, if you lose all, it helps your opponents, true.
What you forget is, that both those extremes are highly unlikely to actually happen. What is most likely is a result in-between, i.e. you winning 2-4 matches, in which case the EC benefits you more than your opponents, who are unlikely to get double wins. This the case Helston and kev refer to as well.
Roses aren't red, Violets aren't blue.
They are just a simulation, and so are you!

From a statistical standpoint, yes, aether is more likely to use the EC. And frankly I don't see the EC having a big affect either way.

Having to play 3 teams twice each is my concern. I think this is the first time this has occurred in a war (maybe war 2?). Mindgating is near impossible. Aether is going to struggle this round. :(
