And, most of the complaints weren't really about the actual lenght of the war, but more about how it dragged on and on. The last few rounds were fought by very few people and some event cards pushed the end even further, making everyone just wait for it to finally end. By round 9, only 24 people were left. Let's say every round a bit less than 50% of the players gets knocked out, that would result in: 24->14->8->4->2->winner.
That would have ended the whole thing in round 14. That is a difference of 2 rounds, but instead almost every event card did something to prolong the thing: more cards, less discarding, more salvaging. Hyperdrive was the only exception (and the event less one).
Well, what I was trying to say, it wasn't the lenght in general, but more the fact that is just dragged on. Team water was out by round 6, which meant we sat there 10 rounds waiting for it to end, and in the end the event cards were just like: Screw you, war won't end soon, we are going to prolong it.
I don't mind the war ending with just a few epic battles, but, this was just too much.
Reading this again, it seems a bit redundant, but well, I don't know how to say it otherwise (and well, it is exactly like the last event cards felt: not unique, and the round were just repeating).
