I see Vault total as the "HP" of a team. If two teams get eliminated during the same round, the team with most HP gets the higher rank. I also think it fits better for the theme of "war" because it's about how much army you have left in the end. Using wins/losses is an e-sport method because you are counting wins from individual battles, something that you don't do in a real war.
I feel the same way about vault = team's HP. Therefore, I think Gl1tch's idea can also be considered and discussed further. One way to see this idea is it's the team's HP before they fall out of the war. Here is the quote:

That's not a bad idea actually. I kind of like it.

A random thought occurred to me. Since Marks are - for the most part - useless, how about allowing players who have them to turn pillars in their deck into marks? I think it's a great way to encourage people to participate in tourneys and get marks should they win.

I'm growing concerned that the lean towards smaller teams coupled with a growing community will result in a lot of excluded players.  I know that Team Underworld was created to address this need.  But maybe we should revisit either the idea of two teams per element or Team supporters, where supporters could have maybe a sort of mini-league that ends every week and the supporter with the highest elo rating adds six pillars to his team's vault?

Just spitballin' here.  Judging by the interest on the forum and in chat, something is going to have to be done for the dozens of players who don't get drafted...
