It should still be made more clear. Apparently, only one person on the team was given the vault countdown.
Generals were notified of that time and will be the earliest it will conclude.
It may change because its tentative.
What if the one person who happens to receive the vault countdown isn't active? Then someone has to ask for the deadline. It would be easiest to have a thread with all of the current countdowns.
The Generals lead their team not the inverse.
The Generals make the final choice on the Member Roles and the Vault, so only they need to know, they can pass the information down if they need to.

Last minute changes were/are really annoying and confusing. Especially talking about UW. Changing the basic system was a good addition (no losers bracket), but it created a huge amount of confusion. If this could be avoided, or really carefully explained (I might be new and less experienced with war, but I'm sure I wasn't the only one in the situation), it would be great. But still it is good, just suggesting :)

Yep, those last minute changes suck big time, but sometimes they are unavoidable. When introducing something now, it's very difficult to predict all issues this new system might bring. That's why some issues slip through the cracks, and we have to deal with them during last minute.

I agree that there should probably be more communication between Warmasters and participants. Easiest way to do that, would be if all rule changes, even minor ones, were posted in the War News (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,23270.0.html) topic. And not only changes, but everything that happens.

Care for an explanation? I remember you begging for a spot in team life, and now Wizel finally realised that, you back out.

Talking about last minute changes...

A little complaint about the time schedule in war here.

- Auction takes ages.
- Preparation takes ages.
- We got enough time for deck building.

But duels have to be done in 4 days! I'm gone for the weekend and my opponent has a full time job. Since my opponent is from the US, one of us is forced to play the match in the middle of the night.

We managed to get a date and time set, but it's really inconvenient for both of us. As I already said in another post, Elements, but the war also has always been just fun for me, but I find this very stressfull.

I know war takes sacrifice, but I personally don't understand why war has been so very slow up untill now, and just when the hardest part starts (organising a duel between two people with a fulltime job and an occupated weekend, while they are from different timezones!), the deadlines get really tight.

I would love to play my matches, but give me a chance here :(

Well, yes, the timing of the end of this phases is a little trouble some, for whole Western Europe it ends at 17:00 just when people are going home, where they would have time to play their matches (or make some changed to the decks).

That is why I would suggest to set it to midnight GMT, just because that makes the most sense: People in Europe are able to fight their matches in the late evening, when it is morning in Azia and (early) aftenoon in America.
Also, this allows people from Europe and America to make some changes during their afternoons, when they have time to do so. Only people from Azia would have to do that in their morning, but that is still better than have half of the world do it during their night (Azia) or working hours (Europe).

Note: Azia is here mostly the Eastern part of it: Japan, China, and also Australia

Honestly though, the prep work, auction/vault building is a huge portion of doing well in War. Duels have been set this way for the last two wars and unfortunately this is a necessary evil. War is already long enough. The first war without the auction and with 30 card deductions each round still took a huge chunk of time to complete (AND duels were done in 3 days not 4). Having deck building/matches confined within 7 days works well IMO because it is consistent week to week and everyone knows the days they need to meet up because they don't change. Yeah it can suck but as the cliche goes... it is what it is.

I understand what you mean James, the entire war takes long enough as it is and I agree with that.

I just wanted to express the way I feel about organising duels between two people with a full-time job and varying timezones. It's really giving me alot of trouble this round and I'm lucky to have a forgiving and flexible opponent.

I agree. It can be very tough and i'm in the same kind of situation. Weekends really suck for me. I wish the days landed on Tues-Friday for duels. This is going to make it very tough for me as well to get my battles in. But i also understand that for a lot of people the weekend is a lot better for them. We just have to make do.  ;D
