An extension on what I said "As an EC it's fine but as a Super it's concerning" you can tone it down easily. The war it came from featured MUCH less upgrades (9/6/3 compared to 15/12/8 of now), which was a fair bit harder to pile on upgrades to. The fact that you only need to sacrifice 1 deck's upgrades to fully upgrade a different deck is horrendous. And although mindgating is a thing, it shouldn't be the reason that an EC is balanced.

My proposed change would to be to introduce a hard limit. Generals can only give 4 upgrades, LT can give 3, Soldiers can give 2 (Making their base upgrades at 11/9/6, with 4 in-element). There was a suggestion at making the hard limit leave the players at 4 upgrades (meaning giving 11/8/4 away), but I feel like that's still too much.
These changes would be much more lenient if it were a regular EC, but since we're stuck with it for the next 3 rounds, making it underpowered in comparison is the better option

Thank you to everyone for the feedback regarding the super EC. We are looking into other options to try to balance it more.

Currently we are looking at possibly putting in a max limit per deck of about 20 upgrades(from EC usage), and a min limit of the 4 in-element upgrades required per deck.

Since about half of the matches have been played this round we wanted to check in on your thoughts regarding how it went so far, and if teams feel that these changes would help balance out the problems discussed so far?

This is not our final decision on changing the EC, and still may be subject to adjustments. Thanks again to everyone for positive feedback and constructive criticisms.

What about introducing a different type of upper limit? Something like you can only give up to 6 extra upgrades or something

i probably lost a match thanks to this ec, with my opponent that made is deck choice influenced by that, the other lost was for aether, an ec shouldn't turn in the most brainless way a matchup by simply adding upgrades, u can't give more than 15 ups since there are still relics

i probably lost a match thanks to this ec, with my opponent that made is deck choice influenced by that, the other lost was for aether, an ec shouldn't turn in the most brainless way a matchup by simply adding upgrades, u can't give more than 15 ups since there are still relics

I definitely lost a match thanks to the ec. Am I complaining? No. Just get on with it. Be happy you somehow won vs us. Be happy you won vs time in a match you didn’t deserve to win.

i actually was explaining how the super ec isn't fixed by limiting it to 20, the problem is having a 20 ups deck in a competition that normally let u play with 8
