i actually was explaining how the super ec isn't fixed by limiting it to 20, the problem is having a 20 ups deck in a competition that normally let u play with 8

a soldier is still able to double is ups

i probably lost a match thanks to this ec, with my opponent that made is deck choice influenced by that, the other lost was for aether, an ec shouldn't turn in the most brainless way a matchup by simply adding upgrades, u can't give more than 15 ups since there are still relics

I definitely lost a match thanks to the ec. Am I complaining? No. Just get on with it. Be happy you somehow won vs us. Be happy you won vs time in a match you didn’t deserve to win.

lmao, sounds like you're complaining now. We somehow won vs aether because we were supposed to lose a 50/50 matchup? makes sense. And upon further review of my match with kae, it's much closer to 50/50 than you may think. G3, I would have decked him out a 2nd time if 3 dials werent hiding in bottom 8 cards. G4, he would have won if he didn't draw his combo until last card (which is not uncommon with his deck). Saying we "didn't deserve to win" is a bit harsh...

Please be careful with making exaggerated statements. Granted, same could probably be said of manny.  :P

Thank you to everyone for the feedback regarding the super EC. We are looking into other options to try to balance it more.

Currently we are looking at possibly putting in a max limit per deck of about 20 upgrades(from EC usage), and a min limit of the 4 in-element upgrades required per deck.

Since about half of the matches have been played this round we wanted to check in on your thoughts regarding how it went so far, and if teams feel that these changes would help balance out the problems discussed so far?

This is not our final decision on changing the EC, and still may be subject to adjustments. Thanks again to everyone for positive feedback and constructive criticisms.

If you want it “balanced” or “fair”, make the cap 15 upgrades. This basically allows you to move a few upgrades from Gen or Lt to boost other decks (could take from a solider too to boost Lt or another soldier). This limits the potential issues that people will continue to bitch about.

I like the SEC and dont think there is need for changing it but wouldnt be opposed to maintaining a decks need for 4 in element upps still
the EC however was false advertising, we sent player 4 to the movies under the premise of receiving an unknown bonus but we got NOTHING!

I agree with the upper half of this. I personally like the SEC as it is. I know some people feel like it's "not fair", but I disagree. Everyone's capable of shuffling around the same amount of upgrades. There's ALWAYS going to be events people don't like. There's no reason to change things because some people are unhappy.

One quick and easy way to measure things -- figure out the win % of increased upgrade decks, and the loss % of decreased upgrade decks.

I like this SEC, I'd be fine with it being a permanent change to war with some modifications. It allows teams to more strategically share resources between their matches, gets into more discussion, allows teams to weaken some matchups to try strengthen others, which gives "easy" targets a half chance, but only if they're being underestimated. Currently it does exist in some form: only one person gets to bring the Lt role each round. But having a "You may reduce the number of upgrades in your deck & send them to other team mates. Also don't worry about minimum in-element upgrades" would be a good permanent role

I’ve said my piece about SEC, my opinion has not changed.

The EC was fine, I just don’t think there was any reason to keep the bonus a secret.

Speaking as a former WM, there is a lot of bitching that comes with the job. It’s impossible to make everyone happy, but subtle ECs/SECs that every team can use are much better received by the community as a whole.

My problem with SECs like this is that it has little effect on the team using it, and has a much greater negative effect if multiple teams use it the same way against a particular team. Even if the odds of that scenario happening is low, it technically shouldn’t be allowed to happen at all. At least IMO, but I am no longer WM. And WMs over the years have a history of ignoring suggestions by vets.
