Sigh.

So I quit war for one reason, to avoid causing drama. But I've had people questioning me when I said I didn't want to talk about it, I'Ve had people insulting me for quitting without knowing the reasons of my leaving. Nobody knows the depth of the problems or the lenghts I'd have to go through to explain everything to everybody. And I'm not going to.

I thought I could be left alone. I thought I could try to fix the problem by my side. I thought I deserved respect, or at least as much respect as I have shown the most of you.

With this I'd like to announce I'll rejoin war. Not for all you fuckers, but only for my team, who was already struggling with me there. They don't deserve this.

Now let me apologize for the language in this message and for people I may have hurt. I know apologizes don't fix everything, but I'm truly sorry if I did anything wrong to someone.

And let me end by apologizing personally to Zawadx. I did not mean to insult you personally, and I believe we have understood each other now with those PMs, but I think I owed you a public apology.

OK, I'm sorry Zawa, but the EC situation:

The current EC essentially gives air 6 free sofrees at 2400 dust value. What was even the point in pricing them so high if this can happen. That is essentially an entire replacement deck for them. Nobody else, NO other team can get anywhere near the value in terms of playable decks.

The round 13 Super EC is flat broken. Seriously, please just remove teh sideboard element. The upgrades thing is cool, and balanced. All elements were not created equal in terms of sideboard, and air being able to splash wings, thunderstorms, shockwaves and a whole host of other elements tech cards that they could make each one of their decks counter all of ours. If the EC stays as is, if we dont win by round 13, i guarantee unequivocally that air will win. There will be nothing we can do. I promise this. You can not create an endgame EC that so heavily favours one element. And you know how to see if it is favouring one side? Because I am complaing this much. Why would I complain if it was balanced? There was a reason why sideboard role was mad eonly 3 cards. The 'lose an upgrade' does nothing to mitigate the power of this because of the way their IN ELEMENT tech cards can counter, flat counter whole swathes of our decks.
The Upgrade part is interesting, promotes saving relics, encourages tactical usage of where to put the upgrades to get most value. WHY does it need this game breaking addition that doesnt even speed up defeat, which is usually the point of contravertial endgame ECs. This has all the one sidedness and controversy without even speeding up the conclusion of war (other than teh fact we will instantly get crushed.

Please, dear god, please. The relics = 2 ups and 2nd lowest ups get carried to lowest ups is great EC. The rest is unneccessary horificness.

But I do want to be clear. I don't blame you. Im not saying you should have known this, but I do, and it's horrible. Presumably you posted it this early to get feedback.

Rules currently state that "A team wins War ... by having the largest vault out of all participants in the last round if none of them remain standing."

I'd like to change that. Vault size is War's main mechanic and our metric for elimination, but the margins after elimination are usually meaningless. Which is why the ranking of elements is determined by winrate after round eliminated, not final size. We should make the rules reflect this too. So the new rule would be: "A team wins War ... by having the highest winrate out of all participants in the last round if none of them remain standing."

Of course, you might argue that sudden death or a 'final EC' would be better if we did end up with all teams eliminated. What are your thoughts?

At this stage a rule change like this is just as arbitrary. A Final showdown EC would be by far preferable to either winrate or vault size arbitrary solutions.
