WAR #10 Round 1 12 armies arrive at the glorious battlefield, each with thier weapons drawn and their shields up ready for a battle. Deckbuilding Duel phase has started Teams have to build decks for all players who are fighting during this round. All team members participate in the planning. Please do not post your decks in public or talk about them in chat.
All decks must be made ready before the timer goes to zero, after which, editing decks is strictly forbidden. Failure to have all of the decks ready will lead to a severe card penalty and/or automatic losses. It is highly recommended that all team members double-check their decks before the duels start.

PM your opponent and try to find a suitable time. Time Zone Converter (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html) might be useful here. If you cannot find a time when you both are online, please contact Warmasters--mathman101 and Physsion--immediately. If the match does not happen, you both lose by default unless one of you is clearly more active and flexible.
Duels are "best-of-five", you must use the deck and mark built during the previous phase, and you cannot make any changes to your deck or mark during the round.

How will we know if we are facing an upgrade boost / Lt?
Must our opponent declare before the match, and we decide at that moment whether to pay or not?

For the event card: how are these upgrades distributed? Our opponents' deck is unknown to us as is the number of upgrades. Can we upgrade extra cards after deckbuilding ends: is an announcement made towards those choosing to use the event card as to how many cards they may upgrade in their deck? And do these upgrades still need to have at least 4 in element?

You will find out if they are Lt/upgrade boost at the end of the deckbuilding phase/start of the duel phase. At this time is when the extra upgrades are added into the decks if you choose to pay for them.

We suggest that you build your soldier decks as regular (8 upgrades), and then add in the extra upgrades at the start of the duel phase if you want to use the event card. Yes there will still need to be at least 4 in-element upgrades in your deck.

Some upgrades are significantly different and affect the way a deck works entirely. i.e Nova/Supernova, Photon/RoL, so a team might have wanted an entirely different deck had they known they'd have extra upgrades to face a Lt/someone using the +2 boost/both.

They are locked in, and no cannot be shifted freely within the deck.

- Suppose Team Chroma Bribes for two of their goons that faces Team Underworld's General and Team Rainbow's non-General.
- If Team Rainbow ends up using Lieutenant/Upgrades against Team Chroma, how many cards Team Chroma have to pay in the beginning of R2?
- If Team Rainbow ends up using anything but Lieutenant/Upgrades against Team Chroma, how many cards Team Chroma have to pay in the beginning of R2?

Huh. This already started.
It looks like :entropy :life and :light both go against 2 Generals this round. I didn't read much of the rules, but my question is: will it be prevented in future rounds that teams consecutively face multiple Generals?

Abomination idea of an event card but I guess i can get the reason of thinking behind it :All teams gathered 300-400 last point of their vault into crappy cards to be discarded,why not make them get rid of them instantly. oh well.guess,I guess I expected something a bit more creative

Individual Actions.
If Team Rainbow uses Lt/Upgrade boost, Team Chroma would pay 5(for vs underworld Gen) + 3 (for vs Rainbow Lt/Upgrade boost) = 8 total cards
If Team Rainbow does not use Lt/Upgrades boost, Team Chroma would pay 5(for vs underworld Gen) = 5 total cards
(both cases are of course if Team Chroma chooses to use the EC, as it is not a mandatory EC.)

At the end of the deckbuilding team Earth is notified that Soldier #8 is facing a Lt (12 ups). Team Earth then has 24hrs to decide if they would like to use the Event Card and pay the cards to upgrade the extra cards.
Team Earth chooses to use the EC and sends this deck with Soldier #8:

All they have done is switched unupped cards to upped cards until they have a total of 12 upped cards.

Please note that within 24 hours from the end of the deckbuilding deadline, teams must decide whether or not they would like to use the EC. This can be done by posting a topic in your secret section titled "Round 1 Event Card". Teams will be notified at deckbuilding deadline of which Soldiers will be able to use the Event Card if they are facing Gen/Lt/upgrades boost.

Just a quick clarification on the way that Sideboard is interacting with the EC this round.
If you submit a 33-card sideboard deck with 8 ups vs. a General and use the event card for this match, you have 15 ups now. You distribute the ups which are locked on those cards as if this were the deck submitted in vault (i.e. the ups from the EC can't be re-distributed, they become locked onto those cards). Then you play your deck in game 1.
After g1, you can then remove 3 cards. If they are unupped cards... no problem. If they are upped cards (either from the EC or the original deck submitted), then you can upgrade 3 other cards from the deck. Aside from the 3 upped cards you removed, you cannot change any other upgrade allocations from the EC for the rest of the match.
Is that correct?

sorry for the late reply, but yes that is correct. and remember that you must still have 4 in-element upgrades if you remove upgraded cards and upgrade 3 other cards.
