Nah, I think its more about forum/chat popularity & being rather old player as generals understandably opt to be on the safe side when it comes to team cooperation. They don't know us new players. See i'm at 40.000 pts and no bids at all.

Yeh they need to know you'll stick around for all the battles and regularly check on the war forum section.

War is a very long event. Teams have fallen due to participation issues. Death went far because we had a strong team of people who participated all the way to the end.

I could already see that, as the only thing that binds a member is merely "a word from a stranger on the internet" without any real consequences on their side. But hey, i waited few days behind the bushes and now fiendishly trolling on a rather popular thread to insidiously show up my face using words of empathy to increase the chances that a general is gonna buy me. This should hopefully tell you that i will less likely let you down.

buyout is at 24 cards, highest bidder
anyone who refuse buyout means any master that want them on the team have to fork out 25+ cards for bid and thus putting the biggest possible disadvantage for the team
