the grandmaster'd gain an option to lead team rainbow to i think (if you look at the title it has all 12 elements...)
Title is only "rainbow" that Grandmaster has. You can, in theory, get the title with playing nothing but mono-decks. Many people think of Grandmaster as "Master of Rainbow", but when you actually think about it, the title has nothing to do with rainbows.

Besides, having the Grandmaster lead Team Rainbow, would only strengthen the idea that Team Rainbow is somehow better than other teams. If we had this team, the leader would have to be from the same "level" as Masters, or lower.

I think of a rainbow like not really a pacifist but someone that thinks all elements are great and are trying to prove that by using all the elements.  They should be like people with no favorite element and think all of them are great.  So it would make sense to have a Team Rainbow.

team rainbow has cool options but i think they're to weak.
every team packs 6 black holes in their vault, puts them in a deck vs rainbow and the win is almost clear ;D.

One counter, a very hard one too, that works against the entire team every round no matter what they come up with. Black Hole.

Ninja'd a decent amount of time ago ;), but yes. Rainbow are pretty much guarenteed a loss in the war if you introduce them. It's all a case of seeing a rainbow opponent and thinking 'do we have black holes?'

I voted no.

War is a great way to show off the strengths of given elements and their powerful and interesting combinations--sometimes built by plan, other times by necessity.  You can play against decks where you have some imperfect information about them (50% card type) but no perfect idea about how to counter.   This is a great event to coordinate with other players on your team to come up with creative decks for match that offers knowns and unknowns without being totally random.

A Team Rainbow, on the other hand, would be a totally different exercise.  Since they'd be required to play some sort of rainbow deck, they would not show the strengths of any given element per se.  Further, in the theme of War, who exactly are they fighting for or fighting against?  I also fear there would be a lot of redundancy in the decks that we see already--while I'm no expert or deck visionary, I'd predict a lot of nova/Snova, quantum pillars, quinted growth creatures, or speedbows.  If I wanted to play against those, there's always T50 and PvP.

On a separate note, we'd see fewer discords (maybe a good thing) and possibly more BH.

I really like team Underworld ... and I think team "Rainbow" takes away from Underworld quite a bit. I voted no.

Coming for someone who is actually on team  :underworld, the rainbow looks like a very similar team.  That is why I voted no and I think that this would be a bad idea.

Finally getting around to the War 3 forum...

I voted no for many of the reasons detailed above.  War is supposed to be a PvP event where players throw their allegiance behind their favorite element.  Conceptually Team Rainbow just doesn't make sense.

In practice one of two things could happen: either all other teams will pack BHs etc and Team Rainbow will fail hard, or Team Rainbow will do extremely well which will leave the other teams feeling like they were beaten by the rules rather than an opponent with equal footing.  The former is annoying; the latter is disastrous.

I'm still opposed to the inclusion of Team Underworld for similar reasons.  It was nice that more players were included in the War and I enjoyed our team preparing for something different.  But I'm not sure how many people realized the risk that was taken by writing them into the rules.  Some coinflips in Round 5 and the resulting easier to predict decks in following rounds might've saved the community a great big annoyed thread, maybe boycotts.

If we want to include more players we need to find a way to expand the 12 teams past nine and keep everyone's sanity intact.

hmm thinking about it, team rainbow to me would seem like a team that is something like "elements are better when they work together not against each other" and stuff like that.
