There's been some chatter recently over the need for a four-day deckbuilding phase given the reduced number of decks to build and opponents to prepare for.

If there's a community desire and Generals (Zeru in particular) don't object, I'd move that we shorten the deckbuilding phase.

I asked DD whether shortened rounds had been considered, and here was his response:

Yes. We do need to nerf the deckbuilding phase... and Zeru.

I'm fine with it; especially if :gravity survives this round, that is.

As long as it starts with the next round, rather than being a 'surprise surprise, we closed deckbuilding 24 hours before deadline', I'm fine with it :P

We had shorter rounds during during War #1 and plan was to do it again in War #2. I did have a highly scientific formula for this, involving the number of teams left, but I forgot what it was. :)

Probably best to do it on a case-by-case basis, or maybe use a system where the number of duels determines the number of days per round.

STEP 1: 4 days deckbuilding 3 days battle
STEP 2: 3 days deckbuilding 3 days battle
STEP 3: 2 days deckbuilding 3 days battle
STEP 4: 2 days deckbuilding 2 days battle

What if, we have a ready marker?

Each general says when they are ready and then if all generals are, the duels begin. Once all duels resolve the next deck building begins.

I think this would also encourage generals to get the work done quicker but not penalise them if they cannot.

Days for round = Players from the highest participating team or 7 whichever is less.
z
STEP 1: 4 days deckbuilding 3 days battle (7 players/decks)
STEP 2: 3 days deckbuilding 3 days battle (6 players/decks)
STEP 3: 2 days deckbuilding 3 days battle (5 players/decks)
STEP 4: 2 days deckbuilding 2 days battle (4 players/decks)

Round can be accelerated if all generals post that they are ready in a common topic.

Anyone disagree? If not, Post a topic DD and lets get moving.

And just to be clear I originally proposed shortened rounds unless someone objected.  I'm not trying to disadvantage anyone.  ^-^

I seriously doubt this. You guys probably have a pretty good idea of what cards the other teams have, so it's no longer a case of having to prepare for anything. But it doesn't even matter really. If it is a problem for your team, well.. that's a problem you guys need to learn how to deal with because we need to keep a good pace. We cannot have the event slow down too much because of one team. Take it as a downside of being successful.

Speeding up process will happen during this War, just like it happened during the first War, and just like it will happen during the next War. It's part of War and everyone has to take it as it is.

I will do some kind of official system for it later, but it will not be based on how many players the highest participating team has. It will be based on the total number of duels during a round.

I have no time to make a big deal out of this. I already said everything I needed to say in that last last post. Read it again in case you missed something.
