Player Auction

Here's what we have so far:

Teams are lead by Generals. Masters are Generals by default, but if a Master thinks he/she is unable to be active enough to lead the team, he/she can step down and we'll find a replacement for the duration of War.

All Generals get 400 cards. At this point all cards are blank and only the amount of cards is significant as they will be used as currency when recruiting players.

Players who want to join War will then each start their own "job application" thread where they include important information about themselves like their score and upped cards.

There will be 3 different areas where player may post their applications. A player can choose only one area at a time. Area where the player posts his or her application determines the role of the player.

1. Palace
Loyalists pick 3 elements they are loyal to. Only these 3 elements can make bids on the Loyalist, other 9 elements cannot. Bids for Loyalists start at 6 cards.

2. Mercenary's Guild
Mercenaries pick 3 elements they refuse to work with. These 3 elements cannot make bids on the Mercenary, other 9 elements can. Bids for Mercenaries start at 3 cards.

3. Slave Market
Slaves can be bought by any element. Bids for Slaves start at 1 card.


Generals/Masters will then have one week to post bids on these thread, trying to "buy" that player on their team. It's a good old slave market! After this one week, highest bidders win those players. You win the 5 players you bid the most (and were the highest bidder). Rest of the bids are canceled and the cards go back to your bank.

If a player starts as a Loyalist but doesn't have any bids, he or she can change his role to something else. If a player gets one bid changing roles cannot be done anymore.

Generals are using cards as currency, so if they spend too much of that cash, they will have less cards in their opening Vault! So it's a choice between paying a lot of "money" for good players and taking a card disadvantage, or buying a team of newbies with peanuts but having a big pile of cash.

Sounds pretty cool. I'd think having more cards is more important then better players, but each team needs at least one good deck builder.

This will sure make it interesting. But im concerned over the amount of cards in the end.

So whatever happens one cannot spend more than 220 on the players for teh team as you need 180 at minimum to compete?

I dont think (smart) Masters would go in overbidding wars. This idea could actually be both fun and good for dispersion of veterans.

This sounds fun... But I think that cards are more important than good players. If my deck is a counter to yours, then I'll probably win no matter how good of a player you are.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.
