On the other hand, the question may be asked what upped cards are supposed to be good for in the long run if the most fun and complex community events aren't involving them.
Tourneys are mostly unupped nowadays, war is unupped ... just to farm gods better and smack the crap outa everyone in pvp2 with a ton of deck variations when there is a WAR that could be played ... hmm.
"Strengthening upped cards as held by actual player accounts" doesn't have to mean that everything can just be played upped no matter what.
There is plenty of room for variations and more carefully adjusted solutions. A good starting question would be:
Why are only the masters permitted to use (few) upped cards?
I kind of liked (my own
) idea of offering ones services in the slave market with only a very limited and defined set of upped cards.
That would be a solution that enables even "noobs" to get into the game pretty fast since farming a set of say 20 cards can be done by anyone in a reasonable time ... even more fun for the "noob" to bring those fresh and well trained reinforcements to the war!!!
Also, may I be so blunt to ask the following question concerning "player auction" again? :
Any chance that there will be something like "temporary mercenaries"/"ronin" ... ?
Personally, I would really love to partake in the next war but I fear that as usual I won't have the time to really commit to it in such a longterm way with all the vault building, strategizing, playing several matches over a looong time period etc.
It would really be cool to have a feature that makes sense in the grand game design and still permits more "casual" gamers to make an appearance, be it only for that one battle ...
