I support this idea, but you have to remember to make sure that these cards apply to EVERY element possible. For some elements, they either lack certain types of cards (mid-hitters, an arsenal of spells or permanents, rare cards, etc.) or lack cards in general (*hugs his imaginary :aether Icybraker plushie awkwardly*). So as long as these Event Cards don't indirectly favor certain elements (like the one you have in your post SG), then I'd say it's a fantastic concept. :)

On that note, would you just 'announce' the Event Card of the round in some post?

It would be good if it workded but im not fond on the negative cards.I fear the cards will become game changers that will ruin it. :fire

TBH, I'm not sold on the idea of event cards, simply because its hard to balance whats already acknowledged as a very varied challenge.  I'm worried that the event cards would make it all that more chaotic.

Also, even if the vast majority of players disagree with me, is it all that wise to implement so many new features in War #2, especially considering we aren't halfway done with War #1 yet?  My only worry is that we are going to make the new system so unfamiliar that it will run clunkier and that if we feature lock soon (next War is in what, 4 months) we can iron out many wrinkles and perfect what we have.

I'm not in the war but plan on joining the next one if I'm lucky enough to get chosen. I've been reading through most of the posts and frankly this is one of the best replies I've seen and should be hugely considered.

I agree with every word of this post.  Except "the."  I think Event Cards are better suited for WoE, or a future War where things are better established.

There are not that many new features in War #2 actually. "Slave Market" is hands down the biggest new thing but it won't make the event more chaotic because it's a separate thing that happens before the battles even start.

This Event Card thing is ridiculously simple to both produce and implement. It requires zero work from players, and it's very easy to understand.

Other changes like card conversion and team member roles will make the event less chaotic, not more.

Event cards like this will make it important to get at least one player with lots of cards. To enable them to build any possible decks. People with 150.000+ score will come in high demand for each team and having someone at 250+ with ALL cards is an important choice.

Thought it was obvious that i meant upped cards due to the event card in the first post and that i mentioned such high scores. And for the third thing, regular cards costs nothing to get more or less.
