I am not a fan at all of showing the chosen Event Cards to the community. There is simply no reason for it. The council will pick fair cards, so there's no need for screening them. Having each event be a surprise heightens the strategy of War; and it is much more fun to wait for a card with little idea what it could be ... possibly even something no one has seen!
Most of the Council Members will be competing in War themselves, so having them know but nobody else is a disadvantage that will not be encouraged by the rest of the community.  It's not only about sharing the cards chosen and making sure they're fair, but it also allows everybody to have the same advantage that, otherwise, only Council Members would have.
All right well that makes sense. Thank you for the clarification.

Note for Warmasters and Coucil regarding Event Cards:

With the addition of Event Cards, there will be many rounds in War #3 in which teams have their vault sizes shift in a way not directly reflected by wins and losses. To take an example, the Monster Nest event gives teams a bonus based on vault information that other teams do not have. However, total vault numbers are and always should be public information during War.

Because of this and similar event-related concerns, there should be a new thread started each round by the Warmaster called "EVENT" in which each team will post once to indicate their vault shift based on the event card. To take the above example, if the event for a given round is Monster Nest, a team might post into the EVENT thread something like this:

>> Team Aether +6 cards from event.

This way the total vault numbers will remain public knowledge and accurate in the end-of-round totals.

There are also cases where a public declaration needs to be made by a team; like which player is chosen to play a specific role with a card like Gambler's Hour. In general it should be the policy of War that these decisions are made public ... and in some cases the deadline for making the decisions might have to be 24-48 hours after the Event Card is posted rather than at the start of the next round, so teams can react to others' decisions.

One other method would be to handle these things in the Conversion thread of each team's forum section. But of course this would imply more work for the Warmasters and less clarity for the community.

@Essence and Kevkev (and anyone else I may have missed):  since cards come in discrete numbers, use "fewer" instead of "less" (e.g., discard 6 fewer cards...)

Opposites Attract: If your deck consists of a duo made with your element and the opposite element, you may salvage 6 more cards if you win.

opposite elements:
:air :earth
:fire :water
:aether :time
:entropy :gravity
:life :death
:light :darkness

That's in no way fair, due to synergies. eg. Discord/Black Hole vs Black Dragon/...Miracle?.

See how unbalanced it becomes?

Simple. Don't run that against Dark or Light, or Just throw in antimatter incase. Kills everyone else though.

I'm just saying that some elements have synergies that are clearly better than others, so you can't be so strict on what they have to duo with.

Guys, this discussion is futile. The event cards have already been voted on, so posts here are useless.

Not to be nasty, but can you explain to me what part of this comment is supposed to be helpful?

Are you under the impression I don't realize the council is voting on this? It's written 10 places in the thread, I've discussed it at length in the thread, and those conditions make up the very instructions one is intended to read before posting here.

There was no announcement that the window for card suggestions was over, and no indication as to the selected cards. I am asking for answers to those questions ... not asking you to clarify a non-issue in a non-helpful way. In fact I was not asking you anything.
