Water Kingdom Map

Being the digital art newb and noob, it will be of no surprise to me if people find this artwork sucks.

Below is a map of East Air Raya, or the East Water Kingdom in Malay (Well, Raya technically means highway, but who really cares?)

This is the map for EtN (Elements the Novel). If you haven't read it, you can start with chapter one here (I have finished five chapters currently):

To be honest, i find many names... jarring. But that could be just because we use slightly different language.

Well, some I made them up like Panaraya, but it does seem to have the Malaysian theme........Also notice that the very west of this map is in proper English because nymphs reside there. I will create a map for Air Raya West when I have the time.

Thank you! But remember this is just the Water Kingdom, East furthermore to top that. So be prepared to expect some more in the near future !

P.S.: Some are in Malay and some are just made up which is why you may not tend to understand the language.

Hmmm........I have heard of that term before. I tried to look at surfaces, applied a plasma render but it did not give the land the stony structure I wanted.

personally i use hexographer and then edit in text after when making maps, its clean and pretty easy- aside from rivers, which are tedious.

What do you mean edit in text? You mean merge down layers together?

after making a map in hexographer, i export it to a .png and put it into photoshop or pixlr to add text boxes over areas of interest

Hmmm........but wouldn't textboxes "distract" the map?
