Award icons for Elements Community Awards 2011

We need award icons for this: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,34528.0.html

Two options:

1. Same icon for everyone, hover-text tells the details
2. Similar, but different icon for each category. Clearly the same set, but a bit different.


Any suggestions on how it should look?

Looks good to me, maybe with a small 2011 across the bottom on the scroll-shaped part to distinguish the year.

The year looks a bit small, but not bad. It may be better to just have them the same each year, like with War/League award icons and so forth.

Whatever your descision is, please make them a bit smaller.

League Award Icons are already massive and it really doesn't improve the forum readability.

So are War award icons. Since these awards are a pretty big deal, and in my opinion akin to winning War or placing in League, I think they should be the same size.

That said, a lot of people will be winning one of these awards, so maybe they should be smaller. The text would probably have to go though.

IMO, the year 2011 is definitely needed. I don't think the letter M, T, E, etc suits well with an award icon. I could make fun "naming" some of the letters.
How about an image representing each of the category but still have the same background or something else that will look it belongs to the same set? Or even simpler, just colour-coded the categories?

I saw this same image in http://www.sxc.hu/ and I think it's definitely something we could use. I'm not a big fan of the letters though. I think mono-color silhouette pictures would look much nicer, preferably so that it looks like the image was molded in the medal.

2011 is a bit of a problem because it's pretty small. And the overall size is pretty big. Maybe we should make it mid size as 24x24.

Hmm ... I'm not too sure about them. Reducing the size would also make the icons harder to distinguish ... Someone else could probably do a better job.
