For those who don't want to read: I made a deck in an attempt to cover all damage types and defend against anything.

This is the deck I just submitted for elements 1.4. it did well when I tested it, against the level 50 stormy deck and the level 80 poisondials deck. I will say it does have at least one true counter (if you consider a counter as something that fundamentally counters the core of the deck) and that is a gravity deck that focuses on momentum and shards of focus. Besides that its only other weakness (again not a true counter but more of a shutdown component) is a lot of aoe cc like rain of fire which is by far the worst sense it can kill ray's of light even after one turn of SoP.

Unstoppable defense includes:

Rays of light + hope: for normal damage.
Mirror shield: for spell damage.
purify: for poison and shard of Sacrifice.
Electrocutor: For momentum and poison abilities.
Shard of Patience: so my rays don't die and get big.
Miracle: to cover any subsequent damage taken.

I should note that I had an aether nymph in the deck as well but I took it out because it was useless. I should also note that I have an unfinished version of the deck with the same cards. It doesn't have to be fully upgraded to work but the sundials and ray's of light must be upgraded.

Tell me what you think, I don't expect this to be ground breaking but its been pretty good for me so far; killed some false gods with and one some cards from the arena and what not.

I see you over-complicate it. First of all, you only have 2 Fractals, and only 2 Hopes. You have 4 draws with Sundials yes, but I doubt you will get Fractals in time and kill the opponent before deckout.

If you want to grind FGs and arena faster, I suggest you to drop Sundials and the Mirror Shield and add in one more Hope and Lobos and obviously, Fractal. Miracle still fits nice in there. This way your deck will probably be much more effective and the most important, faster which a fast deck means faster :electrum gain.

Note : Even if a card is costless or has a :rainbow cost, it still belongs to its own element. Which in this case, Sundial is a :time card so this deck isn't Trio, it's Quartet.

I see what your saying; I definitely have bad roles with this thing. All the additions were added to try and mitigate the damage of a bad role, ex. sundials. Now that being said this isn't the type of deck that can really battle back from a poor start; not like a good fatbow can. So the idea of trying to allow it to battle from a poor start by trading some of its chances for having a good start seems a little stupid and it is. I did change it up a little bit for my personal use, (as a side note I found a way to use the aether nymph but it's not always practical and it takes up a lot of room).

All that said, I still think the above deck is better as an arena style deck where a cpu is playing the deck and not a person. the cpu gets cheap stats because it's stupid: it does not make great decisions in battle always. It does how ever have certain cards that for some reason it plays pretty well and I'm not just talking about standard one dimensional rush setups. The cpu, while not having mastered, can actually make pretty good use of sundials and is often a very cheap and efficient way of building a counter to straight rushes. To make a long story short, all of the extra add ins in the deck are supposed to allow an arena version to thrive and become increasingly harder to stop as a match unfolds.

*Edit* For a deck played by players, not Arena AI.

Nice deck, but I don't think you need to defend against literally everything. I would leave out one or two of your defense-types so that you can make your offense strategy more effective.

Defense Against...
Card
Note
Spell damageMirror ShieldClashes with Hope a bit.
Creature damageRoL/Fractal/HopeMoar Fractalz plz :3
Poison DamagePurifyLike ;D Poison beats Hope, so this is nice.
OTKOSundialProtects against attack-based OTKO strategies.

I wouldn't get rid of Purify or the whole Water element would unravel and you'd have a regular Dragon Fractal RoL deck.

Consider...

Swapping Mirror Shield for Shard of Divinity? It's still helpful to save you against spell damage, but doesn't clash with Hope. It could also save your hide against a 100HP OTKO.

Standard Fractal/RoL/Hope is probably more dependable (though I like unique decks better ;D)

Consider...

– 5 Water cards,
+ 3 Light dragons,
+ 1 Fractal,
+ 1 Hope,
+ Aether Mark instead of Water.

Oh yeah you are right. I was playing a lot of UG recently, so I didn't think of that. That said, there are other OTKO strategies that don't require attacking, but I see your point.

This deck already owns Mirror Shield. And the only way to OTK without a creature is to use a spell which this deck has already countered by the shield.

Um, no it isn't.

In either case, I would still swap out the Mirror Shield for a Hope because if you don't draw one you'll lose to a lot of decks you should have been able to beat, that just beat your face the good old fashioned way.

...well what's been going on over here. oh! a simplified version of the deck posted up top to increase the chances of beating the decks this deck is designed to beat; makes sense!!.

now in a 30 card variety, the new and improved (and actual trio as opposed to quartet) Deck.

Although now it seems like you might as well just play the standard fractal/ray/hope deck; you know the one with dragons. But hey! this one has a purify in it.

lol I enjoy your writing style laelin. I expect the new 30-card build is more reliable, also hey, that Purify actually gives you a fighting chance to EM if you draw the Miracle as well ;)
