I play a similar deck and the main problem is, like i think you said, bad draws. Before discovering upgraded cards (namely shards!!) I played with a life mark and bonds, which if you survived long enough to pull out, made you immortal.
Really fun to play, but not that succesful above AI3.
And then there's the huge quanta usage...
To finish off can i just take a moment to growl at gravity sheilds? at least with flooding you still have some attack power...
