Towers mostly makes novas unnecessary, as you rarely draw several Gavels and Animates in your starting hand anyway. Thus, two towers will let you play a Gavel right away. With 12, you are quite likely to draw that.

This is one deck I had in mind when designing Crusader. You could also go more creature heavy with Angels, Pegs, and a few of either Long Sword or Longbow to drop and bomb your opponent.

I don't know why everybody is so obsessed with the "it's my idea, I did it first!" mentality. I spent many hours designing Crusader, so naturally I came up with a lot of hypothetical decks somewhere along the line. No big deal. :)
