I figured I should revive this old deck. It is quite amazing and I think newer forum members should get a chance to look at it. Its effectiveness is great and is one of the faster rushes out there.

Thank you for reviving this thread! I just discovered this and it's working well so far. Trying to add defense but anything I do seems to take away from the strategy of this deck too much. Great deck ilovecandy, thank you!

Great deck. What do you think, how would SoFr be a viable addition for this deck?

With the low quanta production, maybe not.

What he said. This deck runs on more or less the absolute least amount of quanta it can. Some games you have more than enough, but most games shouldn't last long enough that you need SoFr, much less last long enough to play SoFr.

This still hangs around at the very top of my list of favorite decks, this is a truly amazing deck that I love playing around with.

hey folks! :) been quite a bit since I last visited the forum, happy to hear this deck idea is fun to a lot of new players as well! :)

as for shard of freedom: been toying around with them a bit, they work great against the obnoxious phase shield and the likes .. have included 2 in my deck right now just for the lols of it. if you're not getting a terribly bad draw, the 3 mana should be affordable to get one out, and it can make quite a difference if you're lucky.

still, nothing that the deck needs to rely on. just a fun addition, I'd say; a quite strong one nevertheless if you got some strong clones etc.

keep enjoying the deck and thank you for the positive feedback! :)

Could you use SoW for buffs to Wyrm and for TU? I've been trying it, but can't figure out what to take out. You need CP for the Ball Lightnings, after all.

I don't think SoW is a good addition, as every card in the deck is required and cannot be taken out. CP does the job just fine, and you'd have to quanta balance for SoW as well.

It would actually be easier to balance with SoW, just switch to aether mark XD

Then you can't use Ball Lightnings anymore and this turns into Powerful Wyrms 2.

powerful wyrms sounds like an air-based wyrm/damselfly one-trick pony? might be very powerful, but maybe not as versatile as the combination with purple fun stuff :D

The purple fun stuff really isn't that big a deal - any buff to creature damage will do, and some other elements are more well-rounded. In my mind, your deck's core is the :aether+ :air part, and then you add damage buffs from any element to taste.

For instance: I tried building your deck as a 35-card arena deck, and tested it against common Arena grinding decks. It consistently failed against Poison Dials's 18 turns of stalling power. So I tried switching :entropy to :water and, well, we'll see how it does but it looks promising!

It typically has a surfeit of :air quanta due to wasting its BLs on turn one without a SoP out to buff them, so it ends up using Fractal on Damselflies. The occasional ridiculousness it pulls off with fractal BL, though, makes me feel it's still worthwhile to include a couple. I reduced the damselflies due to Air pillars being my forced inclusion card.
