I tried a variation of this against Plat after I've seen it in the ''Decks used against arena with stats 1.32''-thread.
Didn't get more than 50% winrate with it. But I'll give it another try with your version (1).

I don't think you can win against a deck packed with explosions, Shard of focus. (especially if they have double dex.)

Ok, I tried version 2 in Plat for 20 games and I have to say I won..........2 games total:

  • EQ stopped me from using even one Fractal.
  • Momentum
  • BH
  • SoF
  • Poisonrush
  • SoFre Monoair
and the list would probably have gone on, not sure if anyone is willing to test some more for a more in depth statistic but those a** whoopins were enough for me. Not tested in PVP2, but I would not recommend it for Plat farming, just saying.

I don't know what it is about Platinum today.  I got wrecked as well.  4 wins 8 Losses.  This deck seems to have serious weaknesses against early Black Holes, early Discords and, especially, Shard of Focus.

As far as SoFre and Momentum are concerned, I would recommend saving your Sundials until the very end when facing a SoFre or Momentum deck.  This would prevent you from having to rely solely on the Hope Shield which can be bypassed.

A scavanger helps a little with SoFo if you can get it out in time. Unfortunately, its tough to pack enough of em in there to make it consistent. Sadly, however, they are worthless against steal.

For dealing w/ SoFr I'm stumped though. Just not much to be done short of destroying the shard itself... which isn't an option for aether and light.

-Plat, and even Gold for that matter just seem to be tough nuts to crack consistently. I'm running without towers, however, atm so maybe I'll have a better time after upgrades.

-I've had decent luck against silver.

-It deals moderately well with some False Gods. Unfortunately, its still weak to heavy PC, QC, and poison so a number of FG decks can crush it badly.

At least and it shreds through halfbloods. (I'm getting well over 80% winrate with the majority EM)

I've played around with low-upgrade variations and found that even with only a couple of sundials it can be quite effective. So it may make a nice segway deck for people who want to grind lv4.
Upgrade order:
->RoL (Must be upped. Minimum of 4 to get something halfway decent)
->Sundials (also must be upped. Can roll ok with as few as 2 or 3)
->Fractals and towers
->SoP

Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?
If your zombie plan is

Using the second version, in plat after 15 games I lost 12 won 3 (with 2 Elemental Masteries.)

Effective against Mono-death Mono-life and rainbow rushes (without PC or CC)
however almost an auto-loss against devourer/DBH/Ghostmare/Mono-gravity/Dim shield spam.

A good twist on RoL/hope but this is no Day Traitors...

I love this deck. I resented the lack of CC and PC so I increase its size a bit (also possible without purify). It probably can be improved still.

Wow, I never thought of adding Mind Flayers.  Good Call!  That will definitely help against Momentum and Devour abilities.

I also agree that purify might not be needed.  I am unsure if adding a Miracle would be better or just another Sanctuary.

Mind Flayers are definitely way better in this deck that Ulitharid . They are out earlier and cost less. The bonus in stats is unimportant combined with SoP. As you said it helps against plenty of nasty creature abilities (among which momentum and devour but also lobotomise)

I also agree that purify might not be needed.
In platinum you definitely need it (see the question of poison raised in the post related to swallow). However, contrary to swallow (for which maintaining your otys HP is vital), one is enough.

I am unsure if adding a Miracle would be better or just another Sanctuary.
I'm very happy with a miracle.

All in all I love this deck. It should be added here.
Thanks.

Mhm. Sundials in this deck may actually be worth it, considering you are going to get weird mulligan draws anyway.

Also, when I tried this deck (w/o Sundials) I used at least one Mind Flayer.

This is a deck that I am currently trying.

It does not seem to flow as well, but it has a counter for almost any deck if you are lucky enough to draw it.
