Well if it weren't for trials it would be for war :P But without any such restriction it might be able to use -1 or 2 Dark Pendulum and possibly +1 or 2 Explosion, but that would sacrifice consistency for versatility (you can deal with more threats but are more likely to get stuck with a 0 pendulum draw). This because a single wings/fog/dusk/phase shield could already stop this deck, luckily, the ai was stupid enough not to play wings/phase shield when no damage was on the field so one could still OHKO mono aether.

The first version is more or less how an optimal version looks. Darkness mark and more . I'd probably only use pends if I wanted Steals with that, but they don't hurt.

getting out a cremation is pure luck in this deck usually you just sit around looking dumb waiting for a cremation. i tried this deck out and you can wait entire games and not get a cremation.
