Parage Dolls (top-secret trials deck) https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=29130.msg371739#msg371739
« on: July 26, 2011, 02:16:29 pm »
So after failing a bunch in arena with second rate garbage I decided to try out my top-secret deck I intended to save for the final battle of trials :s
It worked for gold ;) And should thus have little trouble in lower leagues :P

Here's the deck:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
7dp 7dp 7dp 7dr 7dr 7dr 7dr 7dr 7dr 7tg 7tg 7tg 7tg 7tg 7um 7um 7um 7um 7um 7um 7um 7um 7um 7um 80b 80b 80b 80b 80b 80b 8pu
Question marks being the mark code.

It's basically raging dolls with TUs, where Cremations make sure the Fire quanta is properly balanced (balancing quanta is tough in trios). You don't need 1 Rage Potion per Doll and this deck makes use of that :)
In case of high control you should try to go for OHKO, leaving some dolls as dummies for the stupid ai to waste control on, cremating them when they're low on hp and then Rage Potting + TU-ing a fresh Doll. Even works unupgraded. Parallel Universe, Voodoo Doll, Rage Potion, Dark Pendulum, Immolation

We actually tested something exactly like this for a Doll tourney, but I guess it's unheard of for most. Good times.

Hah, awesome deck, I just got a nice OTK in PVP2 using this & nicely dispatchable in a hand too. Mixed it up to playing a snovabow OTK version, it's such a funny way to OTK.  :)

Well, I wouldn't try it out, Gold can be hard enough upgraded without a bit of luck :P
Though unupgraded it would make a decent pvp deck.

Torb probably knows this already, but this deck has one 3 turn win potential condition. :) Quite an obvious one.

Lose toss:

3x Darkness Pendulum
2x Voodoo Doll
1x Cremation
2x Rage Potion

Dump it all out.

Draw a Rage Potion and use it.

Draw a TU and use it. 102 Total Damage at end of turn. :)

The deck is subject to the trials restrictions of course, but seems to be a little slower but more consistent with mark reversal and pends/tower split (generally need to draw only one aether pend as one  :darkness cremation and mark will give you the 4 :darkness for the dolls.) Also 4 cremation might be more consistent, three is the optimal amount to generally get one, but there is real severity in not drawing one quite early. The debate would lie in ttw > draw calculations. More thanks for the cool deck, I've made like 5 versions of this and it's been good fun.

I didn't know that, no xD
I think I like the aether version with maybe even completely pillars more due to consistency and the possibility to add some other cards (you won't need 10 pillars).  I usually ended up drawing at least one TU in starting hand and got 6-9 turn wins on bronze-gold most of the time.

HOLY SHIT thats amazing, a deck thats not mostly fire pulling a 3 turn, that amazing, +rep to torb for coming up with this
Technically, I came up with it and showed Torb. We were talking about doing another Doll tourney to exploit deck concepts that hadn't been used competitively yet, I had the idea of TU'ing Raging Dolls, and we both tested it. It had 3 Cremations, 6 Dolls and TU's, Darkness mark and Aether towers. Of course, Torb doesn't remember any tourney testing we've done in the history of ever, so I might as well be lying to steal his thunder.

Hehe, he just said this in chat: [19:47:27] TheonlyrealBeef: I just don't remember anything of it, this deck I thought of (possibly from unconcious memory or idk, mind is weird that way) when I read the "useless combo" topic where it said Voodoo Doll + Immolation :P
That -is- exactly how his mind works, so yeah.

I don't mind though. If I cared about gaining e-peen, I would post decks and card ideas like crazy. I would've never thought of using this deck competitively, much less in the Arena. Finishing the task with it must've either taken very long, or he was very lucky. x)
A feat either way.

Heh, I didn't explain well in passing, but one pend drawn cuts out a turn for startup speed while still generating aether in the rest, ideally you'd want a :darkness tower to grab 3 darkness start of the 2nd turn which gives you enough to get a doll out and raged in that turn, but after then it's useless. One aether pend gives a 3rd turn start up. No aether pends 4th. Further still 2  :aether pends drawn doesn't hurt aether generation that much either. Here is the code from what I was using, I didn't try to round the deck off just kept it a rush. Phase shield chain and OTK would be fun I never really looked into that, with 3 pots you only need 2 TUs to OTK (108 damage, convieniently 102 with a 2block shield 8)), 3 TUs just sends it wildly over 100.

Stands up to dragon OTK, as I just 6th turn OTK'd with this, 4 of the turns dial stalled. A thing of real beauty.  :P Draw obviously functions when you pull 3x RP, 2xTU, 2xVD, 1xCrem (or pop 5 snovas), and rack up 12 aether. Just did the math and this can indeed 5 turn OTK.

Drawgon Version: More stable, this is a much revised format, just switching out all the dragon components for the voodoOTK stuff, so rest assured this will have roughly an average 9ttw in PVP2 and a lower bound of 6 turns to win.

The aether tower isn't needed, but if you get it within reasonable time it will a) let you OTK @5 Snovas and

You can swap it out for a precog, or a Liquid Shadow for more EM potential. (Remember to Unstoppable/LS before the TUs!)
