After trying out many variations of this deck, the smallest and simplest version shown above seems to be the best.  Stats for last 50 games was 32 wins (64% win ratio).  Sorry I didn't count EMs, but a high proportion of wins are EM, often with high HP.

is there a particular reason you always use drain life rather than lightning, longsword, dagger, fire bolt, etc?

atleast 1 :darkness is guaranteed after SoSac. Weapons are blocked by shields (dim, bone, hax), wich are more common than reflecting ones.

I enjoy this deck a lot.  It's pretty mindless and basically every match requires you going through your entire deck so the matches are definitely long.  But it EMs so often that the electrum rewards are well worth it.

Very interesting. Similar to Zen. Let me try to EM from top tier decks. XD

Btw I think Poison would be a better card cuz it can get past reflecting shields as well.
Thought about poison, but a lot of decks stack lots of purity currently, but reflecting shields seem less common.  Maybe could remove a pillar and put in poison plus siphon?

Not sure if this is a valid argument against poison :
If you're against a deck packing purify then there a pretty good chance that your sacrifice status will be purified and this deck will loose anyway AND isn't the point of this deck that shards of Void are allowed enough time to reduce max HP to <= 3 before the poison is applied ?
By eck it's reet gradley, it's a proper Sqantic that is, I tells thee.

Poison is supposed to be used when the opponent has 1hp. DL can be blocked with shields, but poison can't. (Of course you could stick a reflect shield in here or a long sword)

Spoiler for Hidden:
Player
Wins: 13
I have tried it in the simulator against level 5 AI (200HP, triple mark, double draw, all upped), so something very similar to platinum arena:
http://xenocidius.allalla.com/simulator/

This is the result I got from 100 games:

Winrate: 13 %
Average TTW: 20.53846153846154
EMs: 12
EM rate: 92.3076923076923 %

Computer
Wins: 87
Winrate: 87 %
Average TTW: 22.195402298850574
EMs: 87
EM rate: 100 %

So this does not look like a very high win ratio...

Xenos simulator is only good for mindless rushes.  Go and input for 1 match, and check something.  Does the Ai actually save siphon life for the final kill? I have a feeling it uses it as CC.  The 13 percent are probably deckouts.
My signature is too messy to read >.<

Basically the AI will lose any game in wich it draws the drain life before the enemy HP has dropped to 1~
With poison instead, the result will be more realistic. Also IMO platinum is more close to HBs than FGs, even now that HBs have 150hp.

Two points: (1) the original post was made before the buff to purify so this comment was valid at the time.  (2) the AI's behaviour with purify seems to be somewhat randomised.  Sometimes it will hang on to purifies waiting for some poison to heal or a sosac to counter. other times it will just purify itself to gain healing.

I agree, though that since the purify buff, this deck will lose to any deck with purify anyway, making this argument questionable.  The win rate of this deck has accordingly been substantially slashed since the changes in etg 1.31
