How fast is this deck?  Also why the shield?

This deck confuses me.

Why do you have Obsidian Pillars but no Air Pillars? If Novae can power Flying Weapon, why can't they power Vampire Stilettos? If Obsidian Pillars and Pendulums are required to power Vampire Stilettos, why don't you have Air Pillars and Pendulums?
