Basic idea here is simple: it's a tight 35 cards, designed to create a lockdown between Gravity Shield and a high-HP Otyugh.  Eat what you can't ignore.  Pulverizer adds the ability to overcome most permanent-based threats.  Hourglasses let you draw up fast, then Eternity comes in and keeps you from decking out at the very end.  By continuously bouncing a Deja Vu, you can max out your creature pile just for fun.

It's got lots of vulnerabilities, primarily to creature control.  Permanent control isn't that big of a deal so long as you Protect one Gravity Shield and then Protect your Eternity at the end (or Pulverizer if you think you can win before you deck out.)  Basically an opponent has to have either immaterial creatures with <6 HP, or creatures with exactly 5 HP and nothing smaller that your Otyugh could eat.

you have quite a few weapons there, have you thought of putting in some animate weapons?

He'd need an Anubis for that and that would throw off the balance.

Why would he need an Anubis?

Worst case scenario, the weapon gets destroyed by the other player instead of being destroyed when you play something over it. It's not like you animate a weapon as soon as you play it unless you expect it to last longer that way.

Just a thought, Eternity is really, really good as anti-creature control; you can heal your creatures of damage and status and remove any buffs theirs get. They have to kill them in one hit to get around it, and they can't rely on Heavy Armor to do it.

Why the Deja Vu though? I'd think you'd be very short on time quanta as is and it doesn't really add anything to your deck. Unstoppable might be a good card to consider adding because it lets your Oty pierce shields and eat 5 HP dragons right away.

The deja vu is for not decking out. With everything else, you want to keep it on the board so as not to reset your otys. What you do is you constantly rewind the dejavu at the end so you always have one card in your deck.

but a deja vu is a dumb card to use for anti-decking out, when you only get a maximum of 3 time quantums per turn. Let's look at this mathematically... quantum gain: 2x time tower = 2 quantums + 1x mark of time =3 quantums. Qantums spent: playing a deja vu = 1 quantum, using eternity's effect = 3 quantums... add it together and you're spending 4 and producing 3. The point of a set-up like that is so that you can last forever... use a photon, it's more effective

Good point.

+1 Time Tower it is, then.

What would happen if it had a Graboid inside, too?

Then, umm...you'd end up paying 8 earth/turn to return the Shrieker every turn to prevent a deckout?

But, why return the Shrieker and not something else instead?

He really doesn't have anything else that could be returned and replayed cheaply, other than Deja Vu, but the previous posters are right in the fact that if you bounce and play Deja Vu, you're using more Time quantum than you're producing. A simple Photon is the best bet.

That's what I meant. Graboid for making the damage output larger, Photon for bouncing.
