Fractal Scarab deck [unupgraded] https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=4819.msg47652#msg47652
« on: April 03, 2010, 06:36:12 am »
As soon as the card Scarab came out, I've thought of using it alongside with Parallel Universe. With that, I was able to get them to monstrous sizes due to a Scarab/PU glitch. However, with Fractal, you can have more copies of Scarab than you can ever have with PU; Scarab only costs 2 :time, making it an ideal target for Fractal.

Second experimental build of the deck:

Anyways, Flooding kills this deck hard...

Suggestions? I do believe that this deck could be improved. Maybe add some weapons and shields? Add some Gravity Pillars?

take out some aether pillars and add 3 or so gravity pillars, you dont need so many to run fractal.

i would say remove a few few aether pillars, and then put in a dim shield or 2, or get a procrastination shield in there. small additions that will make a big difference. especially the procrastination shield

I posted a similar deck here http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,4572.0.html (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,4572.0.html)

Code: [Select]
5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rl 5rl 5rl 5rl 5rl 5rl 5rn 5rn 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rq 5rq 5rq 5rq 5rq 5rq 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 621 621 622 622 622 622
I could beat tier 5s with it, but the biggest problem was getting a good draw at the start. I tried dropping the quints and anubis, and it worked a lot better. I'm sure there's a happy medium between mine and Bloodshadow's deck.

Jub's deck looks much more effective then the original, so i would go with that one.

I tried one out on the trainer, and got seriously owned by the flooding. If you can keep flooding at bay, it can work great. I would put in a procrastination or two, half opponents speed means double time to eat opposing creatures

For a deck like this, I'd rather go with a small deck than with a huge one with Hourglasses. The reason is that I want to draw Scarabs and Fractals FAST; it is less likely in a huge deck.

Right now, with 9 pillars of Time and Aether, I usually get very good pillar draws. So I guess I could swap two Aether Pillars for Gravity Pillars, and one Time Factory for Procrastination?

I don't really want to add Dimensional Shields in this, because Fractal is already very expensive to cast.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

It's a fun deck, thanks for the idea!
Now i'm playing with a mostly upped 34 card variation (Eternity
+3 SoG) The inclusion of eternity means flooding and plague are less of a problem...
I feel the potential, but I want to know if someone has an upped variation.
Possibly that gets around the lack of permanent control issue.

Anyone???

Respectfully yours,

Evil Kitty

You may consider swapping a Lobotomizer for a Fractal.  Then again, devour is pretty good creature control...
Bring back Holy Cow!
