Fast Pillarless Golem Rush https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=3745.msg35127#msg35127
« on: March 08, 2010, 04:48:38 pm »
A deck I've screwed around with in the trainer today. It kills AI3 like a charm (haven't lost a single one) and very fast as well. I've had some success in top50, but there are many decks in there that vanquish this one.

Here it is
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5fa 5fa 5fa 5fa 5fa 5fa 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 61p 61p 61p 61p 61p 61p 8pm

A good first hand and I can begin with 3 golems doing 15 damage at the very first round! Of course this deck fails against many different things, shields/storms/otuyghs just to name a few. But it's a very cheap deck that can farm AI3 very fast.
I'm gonna try it out in PvP ASAP, but for now I just wanted you all to see it!

EDIT : I've realised this exact same deck is on the wiki and has been done before,  sorry everyone! =)

I've seen a better one, called Acelink's Adaptable Rush (Pillarless) (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,3497.0.html).
The unupgraded version of that deck is what I'm currently using, with some modifications.
UNUPGRADED VERSION OF DECK:
6x Golem
5x Nova
5x Immolation
4x Protons
4x Spark
2x Lycanthrope
2x Horned Frog
1x Arsenic
1x Dimensional Shield
I switched the horned frogs with forest spirits, though, and replaced a golem and a spark with two deflags.
For me, this works pretty well in PvP and T50, though not flawlessly, but it's the fastest and most consistant unupgraded deck I've played T50 against.
I'm currently working on getting his upgraded version.

I like it, but why Sparks and Photons? Put some Dragons in 'der.

Here's the deck I used in the AI3 Challenge (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,1874.0.html).  It can win in 4 turns.

Hey, I actually like this one! I tried, and it worked pretty well in T50! I'm making this deck on my main account.

I like it, but why Sparks and Photons? Put some Dragons in 'der.
Sparks can give you just that bit of extra punch in the end of a fight, and photons can stay in the game for a bit, if you have nothing else to play. Most likely, you'll immolate whatever you get anyway.
Since this type of deck has very limited quanta, it's not a good idea to add dragons, except Maybe a fire one. I'd still rather keep an extra golem to increase my early game chances, rather than drawing that, since you'll never get that amount of quanta. You'll most likely not even have enough to play that shield... the shield is there for those just in case scenarios. I'd rather be safe mid game than sorry in the first draw.

Here's the deck I used in the AI3 Challenge (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,1874.0.html).  It can win in 4 turns.

That looks pretty  nice, but I wouldn't put a graboid there. You'll most likely need that earth quantum for the golems, which are likely to be in play long before you get that graboid, and probably multiple copies of it. If you have no earth quantum, and your mark is earth, would you really keep a dead card in your hand for three turns and not buff your golem when you can?
In your deck, I'd probably remove that graboid, and possibly a nova too... eitI'd either put two graviton fire eaters in their place, or two deflags. Probably deflags, since I like permanancy control, for those moments where you need it.
Does your deck work well in T50?

Yeah, this is my favorite T50 deck too. I can outrush those anoying life decks on a lucky draw, where the shrieker deck usually failed misserably.

It's hard to get good unupgraded decks these days... After the Sundial nerf, that Fire/Light Firebolt T50 grinder doesn't work so well anymore; this deck wins consistently and is even faster than the Firebolt deck before the nerf. +Karma for a good T50 grinder.

I don't have an Arsenic. Since it's Mark of Earth, I switched it with a Hammer.

If you have a lobotomizer, you could also use that one. That shield is the most expandable card in there, in my oppinion, so you could switch those two. You could put back that one golem I removed then, and increase the number of golems on the field again.

I actually have a Lobotomizer. So I guess I'll switch the Dimensional Shield with my Lobo.

But I think for T50, this at least needs a tiny bit of defense. What cheap but effective shield can you put in there?

I'm thinking of Fog Shield or Gravity Shield. Or simply a Heal? But it conflicts with Forest Spirit...
Suggestions?

Hmmm.... It's a tough one.
Procastination would be out in late game as well, but I'm not sure if it'd save you, since you'll likely play it when dimentional shield would be played, and it's usually the life saver.
Same can be said about ice shield, and we're already using the water part.
A fog shield, maybe? It's cheap, so you can get it out early, and air quantum is unused anyway. Any attack that misses you might be the one that saves you from the death and strikes down your opponent.
Maye a fire shield works too,  for some rush decks, and we have plenty of fire quantum available. Still, you'd have to choose to play a golem or a shield, and I'd rather play a golem (since that's kinda the idea of the deck).
Gravity.... no. It's not the low HP creatures that kill you, usually, but the low hp ones. I don't think this shield would get much use.
I'd go for a fog shield.

By the way, can you let me know if you end up using your lobo a lot? It seems a good idea in theory, but I'm curious if you actually get to use the ability at critical moments. It would save me the time of trying it out myself, like I was actually going to.
