Phase 1 will end in:
HAS RUN OUT
Phase 1 - Proving Your Worthiness
This phase is different each Trials. In Trials 14, Phase 1 will no longer restrict Phase 2 deckbuilding! Feel free to be as creative or lazy as you want, whether it be a grand entrance or just sneaking in unnoticed.
General Structure:In preparation to be a Master and to lead your Element into War, there are a choice of 5 types of tasks. Each Trialist (both Masters and challengers) submits 2 entries from these tasks. You can choose to either submit one entry from two different tasks, or two entries of the same task. For those subjects with two tasks, you will only have to do one of them to count as a completed task.
The Tasks:Writing:Write a short fiction story about how your element (or any of its cards) proved to be of great use during a challenging time/event.
Write a poem related to your element. It can be a love poem between two of creatures, about a death of one of its creatures, a battle poem against an opposite element etc etc
Deckbuilding:Pick your favorite deck from the past trial finals of your element. Explain why it is your favorite, its strengths and weaknesses and make a counter deck consisting of 50% of cards from your trial element, with same number of upgrades as the favorite deck.
Build a counter deck (make it innovative if you can!) against a FG who has the same mark as your trial element. Use 40% in trial element cards. Also, make improvements to an FG deck with the same mark as your trial element, and justify the improvements you have made.
Cardmaking:A
legendary card is a card you may only have one copy of in your deck. Design a
legendary card for you element.
A
secret card is a card that when played is hidden from the opponent until a specific requirement is met. Design a
secret card for your element.
Spoiler for Example:
5
If your opponent plays three or more creatures during the same turn, deal two damage to all creatures played this turn.
Art:Draw something. Here's some ideas: Draw a card. Or a deck. Or a hand. Or a player. Or an
elemental. Or a
False God.
Forum expert:Design a new forum game based around your element.
Come up with a new tournament or a pvp event ruleset. Talk about how it is balaced and give examples of decks you would make (50% of cards in deck from your trial element)
Scoring:All entries which complete all of the task requiremenets will gain 2 points. Entries that complete some of the task requirements will gan 1 point. Each TrO may also award an extra point to 2 submissions they like the most. Also keep in mind that some community members might find your efforts relevant when voting in Phase 3.
Submission- Put all of your completed tasks in your post in the 'Challenger's Entrance' thread for the Element you are competing in (links to each are at the bottom of this post). Be sure to follow the submission details!
- The Trials Overseers will try to review submissions as they're added, note where and why credit was not given, and update the Trials Standings thread with completed tasks. Players can expedite this by submitting well before the deadline and notifying a Trials Overseer in chat if one is present. But ultimately it's up to each player to make certain they've followed the directions.
Edits after the DeadlineAny edits after Phase 1 deadline will result in 0 points from Phase 1 tasks. If an edit needs to be made, notify the Trials Overseers (
DoubleCapitals,
PlayerOa or
worldwideweb3)
