End up those deflags hindered me since he had no spine shield nor any permanent worth exploding. I also got a really bad draw in that I drew 4 cockatrice but didn't draw a single frog, so my adrenaline rush failed.

I guess I thought too much trying to counter a specific kind of deck, end up being out rushed every time.

I doubt it. But i dont know, you should fight every one else, if you win them all you should be good but ill let SG take care of that.

Not to make any sort of excuse, but I think the reason why I lost so miserably is because of my lack of experience with unupgraded decks. Indeed, before I built these decks for this event, the only unupgraded decks I've used is mono aether which I used to grind AI3 before I was able to farm false gods and the SG rainbow before it's upgraded. I have used quite a few life decks, but I made them in the trainer and used them only after I upgraded them completely. As a result I have multiple upgraded copies of almost all life cards. I was quite surprised indeed how slow a non-upgraded deck is. Most of my deck ideas are just not practical for a non-upgraded deck. Like the frogtal, the frogs do very little damage before they are upgraded, so fractal them is just not working. My splash fire mono life rush deck used in this duel was actually very fast when upgraded, and the fire cards are used pretty easily with only mark because of low cost.
  Again, these are not excuses, killsdazombies is a very skilled player, but I learned a lesson after this duel. That's the result of not participating in any tournaments I guess, I'm just not familiar with the unupgraded world any more.
  Life is not fair, but it's life.

OK frogs need to be adrenalined*12 damage* chickens only do 9 when adrenalined might not seem like much but it makes a diffrence.

Life is not about respect. It's about breeding chickens and frogs. Genetically engineered to produce adrenaline... and it's about watering plants... I mean forest spirits.
In life there is only one rule: Chickens are yummy! ... I meant: The strong rule over the weak!... unless the weak are adrenalined

oh, right... all the roads lead to chickens... that's it!

And by the way, in Heroes of Might and Magic IV phoenixes look like burning chickens, so I nicknamed them KFC... does that mean that I have no respect towards phoenixes?

We are both using rustler translating light to two life principle, ironically I beat her who made the new art for rustler with rustlers . My deck was just simpler, and simpler=better.

After a couple of turns I started spamming phase shields, could have decked her out since she won the coin toss, but I ended the game by tossing out 4 dragons in one turn to kill her before she miracles.

Third round:
I used the same deck as the first round.
She changed for a bigger deck to avoid deck out and she has some good creature control in her deck too. It turns out she has no healing in this deck, out rushed her.

Really close games for both of these matches, but I just couldn't hold on long enough in most cases.  Those darn phase shields really got me bad.  Both of you guys did a great job!  I'm proud of how close some of the games were, it's inspired me to have enough confidence to get involved with some of the other PVP events.  I had a great time playing both of you!

I hope it's understandable that I don't have a detailed match report, as this is really my first official PVP event and it was a little overwhelming for me.  (:
