Remember, the Requirements to Challenge are:

• 50,000+ score in Elements
• 200+ forum posts
• Joined the forums no less than 3 months ago (at the time of signing up)
• Participation in at least three separate PVP Events (Leagues, War, Weekly Tournaments, etc.)

A player may participate in Trials without meeting the 200 post and 50,000 score requirements if they are able to provide evidence of a significant PVP achievement. Examples of sufficient achievements include:

• Winning a Weekly Tournament
• Finishing in the Top 3 in Leagues or other forum PVP Events
• Finishing on the winning War team

Note: In the event more there are more than four applicants (including the defending master) for one element, priority will be given first to players with the higher Phase 1 scores and second to a combination of score/post count.

This deck is fairly simply to use and it costs only 84 if you choose the entropy starter! It also uses only cards that are found in the started deck.

Strategy is fairly simple: Play everything you can, mutate skeletons (or an opponent creature in case of emergency), use chaos seed on opponent's creatures (or try to get a reverse time on a skeleton if you're that desperate) and use the shield to survive against decks that are faster than you.

Now then, why would you choose this and why is it effective? It's simple! Because it's fun and it depends on your RNG! It's effectiveness relies on your luck with mutations and chaos seeds, so if RNG shines upon you, this is the starter deck for you.

It's simple. As always, you need a bit of luck for things to go your way with . First, you have to freeze the creatures that Akebono overdrives. After they cool down, antimatter them and use butterfly effect on them, if you have it. Butterfly effect is used as lobotomize here. After you have enough healing on the board to stay alive, start hitting with your dragons as hard as you can. Also, be aware of chimera. No nymphs because Akebono uses his overdrive on them.

Q: Which war was your first one as master and which one was your first one as a simple soldier?

A: War 3 as Master General. War 7 as Soldier.

Q: How did being a simple soldier instead of master make the difference for you? Were you still a leader hidden in the shadow of the master or just did your soldier duties (test decks and play your match)?

A: No difference; I still lead my team in the open. This is why I explain that I don't join War as a Soldier. The only thing that affects my ability to propel the team forward is time constraint.

Q: Was there anyone who you would like to thank for the company during the war and for their effort? (you can give as many examples as you like)

A: It's no secret that my Team Aether during War 3 remains, in my eyes, the ultimate War team ever assembled. I take pride in assembling them, but the monstrous amount of work belongs to all of us. All members of that team, my team during War 4 and War 7 as well will always share a bond with me. Every single one of them is special in their own way.

Q: Do you think the war and meta rules got better, worse or remained mostly the same as the time passed?

A: The main difference in the meta has been the advent of Psion and the amount of upgrades. The more upgrades we get, the more complicated does the meta become from Aether's perspective. The meta with Psion in it is well established now, but changing the amount of upgrades between any wars will change things up noticeably.


Q: Which master generation was your favorite?

A: I'll always be partial to my first term since it was all fresh and new back then, and even if it hadn't been we had great personalities leading the elements. Who doesn't miss GG, Nap, Zeru, MrBlonde and Torb as Masters? All members who have left their mark on the community are irreplaceable. It's not just about the Masters either; it's just as much about other War members and the audience as well. Simply having people like jmizzle, Terroking, Kakerlake, kevkev, QuantumT, Svenningen, kirch, jmdt, Kael Hate, TStar, Thenewguy, Malignant, killsdazombies and many, many more made for an electrifying environment.

Q: From your previous wars experience, which elements do you think are able to go toe to toe with aether in war?

A: This depends on the amount of available upgrades, as Air gets a lot stronger with more of them. Without upgrades, our strongest opponents will probably always be Fire, Darkness, Entropy and Death, in no particular order. The top three War elements by winrate within 4% are Aether, Entropy and Fire. After that we see a drop of 6% where 6 Elements and Underworld enjoy a 45-50% winrate. All of these can threaten Aether in a very real way, though Light and Time have to expend more effort than the others (more dedicated decks stand a better chance). The remaining three have a hard time overall, but especially so against the card base of Aether.

Q: Did you like aether from the moment you started playing Elements or did you discover your favorite after playing the game for a while? Also, what is it that made you choose it as your favorite?

A: The in-game descriptions and images were enough to hint at what Element would mean the most to me. As for what Element I would enjoy playing the most, I started out experimenting with Death, Aether and Fire. In card games I've always enjoyed combos the most by far, and Fractal and PU allowed for the strongest combos by far. From there Aether became not only the Element that meant the most to me, but also the one I enjoyed playing the most.

Over time, I began to define why exactly Aether wasn't just an Element to me, but also something personal. The main reason was distilled into the strife for ascendancy. Other goals such as enlightenment, the seeking of wisdom, equilibrium of mind and emotion, and mastery of body and mind, turned out to be smaller goals and methods towards the larger life goal.

Thematically speaking, Aether not only appealed to me during those first moments staring at the starting screen, but also later on as my interest in the universe, space, cosmic forces, different types of energy both defined and undefined, other dimensions, the potential effects of immortality on humans and all of the mythological background of the term itself expanded.

Q: Does your favorite element influence your day to day decisions? If yes, then how?

A: See above for how my life goal is connected and bonded with Aether. In addition, I've always been all about lightning powers in games. This love I developed has only strengthened that even more, and it has also made me enjoy the forces of fire more as well. It's all plasma and energy in the end.

Hello, I am sad to announce that I will not defend this time around.
I didn't really want to post this until 2 challengers decided to participate, but this seems unlikely. In case no one else wants to participate I will play in the final battle but if I somehow manage to win, I will give up my position as it doesn't feel right anymore to be a master that only logs in for oracle and arena.
Anyway, I will not participate in phase 2 and phase 3 as I have exams in 1 month(CAE and driving license).

Developing War Tactics

Event Card:

In depth explanation: For every 5 additonal cards in your deck you have plus 1 upgrade. That means starting from 35 cards you may add an upgrade more. That means if you are the general and you have access to 9 upgrades and you decide to run a 60 card stall, you can upgrade 6 more cards. But beware! For additional 5 cards in your deck that you dont add an upgrade you gain a relic(max. 3 relics per deck). Relics may be used as upgraded cards in the future.

-If my team was in first place i would run as fat decks as i could without using the upgrades granted by the EC. That way, provided I could mindgate the opponent and find counter decks, I would be able to win the matchups and save relics for later on.

-If my team was threatened by elimination, the event card gives me the opportunity to use the extra upgrades for my advantage. I would try to add as many upgraded cards as I can afford in a deck to win otherwise more diffucult matchups.

Explanation: Divine Glory has some obvious weaknesses which the deck I propose counters perfectly. The weaknesses are its one-dimensional offense based on flying morning glories, no CC whatsoever and the mind of AI. Whenever it has the chance Divine glory will animate its weapons, after that, my deck does the rest. Using novas to power the one needed reflective shield, and using Shards Of Wisdom to animated glories we eliminate half of Divine Glory's damage. Considering the deck has 72 cards, even with double the draw we have more than enough time bought to summon our dragons, and with the help of the reflective shield bouncing back the damage of Morning glories, it should be more than enough to take down this false god.

A baby lycansteal if you will! Bying and selling +75 electrum we can form this beauty out of the entropy starter deck.

The strategy is really simple for this fairly strong deck. Its low costs make it a decent rush deck with some PC and CC, can be described as a decently completed deck. You need to summon the lycans as soon as possible and evolve them for maximum output of damage. Chaos seeds and the demon can be used as a mild form of CC and steals for PC. Abominations and the lonely dragon as another more expensive form of damage.
