Q: @ ALL: If a noob comes and tells you Earth sucks and they have no damaging spells, blah blah....How will you respond?
Q: @Terro, You are a great master and a deck-builder, but some community members question your inactivity, how will you respond to this?
A1: That's easy, respond as Belth would, by stating that BB is a very powerful and inexpensive control card and among the best in the game. If they continued to say that Earth was terrible (Blasphemy!) I would point out EQ and Stone Skin, which are both indirect ways of controlling creatures. (EQ in that it can prevent their ever coming out, and SS because it can nullify their damage.)
A2: That's an easy one, I'll come back from vacation. Problem solved.
To Belth, and people who won't vote for him because "He's a traitor," or "He went over to
," don't vote for me (Or $$$, to whom it may concern) just because of that. Belth can do absolutely anything he wants to when picking his War team, and in any case mine filled up very quickly.
And to both of my challengers, the best of luck. I have my predictions for who will win, but I'm not going to say them.
I'm still surprised there wasn't more competitors for Earth, but nonetheless, having 3 makes it easier to choose from. Again, not responding to my question may sway my vote away from you...
Q: Several elements have various forms of permanent control (Entropy’s Butterfly Effect, Fire’s Explosion/Deflagration, Darkness’ Steal, etc.), but only ONE element has something to counter such permanent control: Earth. What is your opinion about Earth having exclusive access to such protection, and do you feel that permanent control is a big deal in elements, or not?
That's an easy one; no. Although it has been said, Aether has a similar monopoly on Immortalizing creatures (Except of course Anubis+SoR, or, admittedly, Mutants, but you might as well say that Light and Light also have perm protection) and it has never proven a problem. The way to make PAs useless is the same way to make CC, PC, and Earthquakes useless, simply don't pack their targets (In other words, if you opponent has no Perm control, then PA is a dead card).
I do, however feel that perm control is a big deal. Without all (Or at least more) elements having access to it, some decks like mono-Aether can win the majority of the time simply because their opponent can't do a thing, their cards, quanta, and damage are all useless if they didn't take one of the few ways around that shield.
To be honest, I'm not sure who to vote for here. Terro is great. Awesome in fact.... when he's on. In the later parts of the war I can't remember him being terribly active (then again, I was gone for two weeks of the war so I shouldn't talk >_>), while $$$man was consistently active. And ever since then I haven't seen Terro on much either.
So basically, if Terro starts to prove himself to be more active, I'll vote for him. Until then, I'm leaning towards $$$man.
My feelings exactly. Terro is a great master, but he seems to be terribly inactive, especially in chat. I want a master who is active in all parts of the community. Additionally, (though i believe he was on vacation) he didn't play his first match in the Team PvP event, and signing up for things such as that, knowing you can't compete is a slap in the face to your team.
I voted for $$$man, I think he's come to represent for me and has a great love for the element. I also see him as an able leader and will grow into the shoes of a master if he becomes one.
Before you got here, I was quite probably one of the top 3 most active people in chat. Then it kind of died off. Should resume again now or close to now though. And I didn't sign up knowing it, in fact I was planning not to sign up until Gli1tch recruited me. Still, that was my falter.
And I often leave chat/forums open even while I'm not actually at the computer, which would explain the AFK.
So, whether or not you chose to read the above wall of text, I hope I'll get your vote. Thanks.
